I keep thinking that I should let you guys know how things have been going here

Dae Lynn started a new job and is making about 4x what she was at the school! I'm so happy for her! It's a job that she can move up in and make even better money on the future! For me it's meant getting up earlier, driving in and getting Karlie dressed, and on the bus. Right now I get up at 6:00 but earlier it was 5:00! I think that in a few weeks it will go back to 5:00 because the girl that has been the head girl in the office is leaving and Dae Lynn will take her place. In the summer Dae Lynn will bring the kids out here so i won't have to get up so early.

Glen and I are getting along better! We went to a few counseling sessions and they really helped. We can go back at anytime we need to.

Last week my niece and her three kids came and stayed with us.....can we say hectic? Supposedly she was leaving an abusive boyfriend. Yes, she definitely needs to leave him....... But do I think she will? NO! However we tried to help in ways we could. She's not always honest with us so we're hesitant to give her money, but Glen offered to go down and get her belongings and put them in storage. I'm not sure what she's going to do so we'll be watching to see.

Spring is finally here! Even I got tired of the snow! I'm so ready to be outside but I've got a sore throat and junk! It's not allergies so hopefully I'll be well soon! To,morrow Jaco, Dae Lynn, and I will be taking a special trip to a wonderful greenhouse! It's something we all enjoy doing together! Yay!!

On a bad note...I've been working for a year with my doctor on my diabetes. We've tried so many different meds and nothing is helping so ice had to go on insulin. Bummer! I'm so discouraged but my doctor keeps giving me a pep talk when I go in!

Well, that's what I can think of at the moment! I hope everyone's been healthy and happy!

HI Diana! You really are busy, and so good to help Dae Lynn so much! I'm glad things are finally going well for her. And I'm glad things are better between you and Glen.

I sure miss hearing about how everyone is doing!

I'm so happy that things are better for Dae Lynn too. I didn't realize just how tight things were for her until she started talking about what she could get now! I didn't know it was so bad. Also she won't have summer break from school where she didnt make anything. She got by with money she made from cleaning the church and trust me it wasn't much! I will say......she is good at managing her money!

I'm still not feeling well but am a little better. I think that I may be getting pink eye! Bummer!

I'm really upset about my diabetes. The meds that the doctor has me on is very expensive so I've got to find something that will help out.

I am glad things are going well! As for the insulin, it sucks, but at least it will help you keep things under control. My grandpa had diabetes and was on insulin. When my brother and I were little, he made us say "Ouch!" for him whenever he gave himself a needle, so he wouldn't have to lol.

I'm jealous that your spring has arrived! We have had a few nice days where we could go out without a jacket, but then in between we are getting pouring rain and even snow again! Mother nature can't make up her mind.

Diana, I know you hate taking the insulin, but it really does regulate your blood sugar better. Do you take it regularly - or do you take it when you eat? The best way is to give yourself insulin every time you eat, by counting the carbs you eat and then giving the amount of insulin that covers those carbs. That's how your pancreas works. But that is a big hassle, I know, unless you have an insulin pump which is great!

Gayle, I take a shot of Levemir at night.....28 units........and then I'm suppose to take 10 units of Novolog before each meal.....and I m having trouble remembering those. We're still in the adjusting stage so my numbers will probably change. I'm very frustrated with all of this

I am so happy for Dae Lynn!!! Being a single mother with two children is not easy financially and I'm sure she wants to make it on her own. She should be so proud of herself!!!!

Wish you were not having trouble with your blood sugar. I know it has to be a hassle for you but once you get it regulated you'll feel better. Think of you all the time.

I know it's a pain Diana, I truly do understand that part of it. Gary had to give himself insulin before every meal too. Later on, he was able to get an insulin pump so that really helped because he didn't have to give himself an injection every meal, he could just dial in the amount of insulin and push a button to give the insulin. That made everything much much easier.
