If I didn't need my medical benefits so bad, I'd have not been able to force myself to stay at work today. It was an absolutely lousy day!
My manager informed me (as a woman was walking in the door) that he'd gotten a complaint from her and called her in to straighten it out. His tone and look told me that he figured the complaint was about me. I recognized her as someone I have waited on several times and did struggle to do a transaction for last week. I could feel my face reddening and I braced myself. Amazingly, her complaint wasn't against me at all! It was against the manager who filled in while Andrew was on paternity leave. She said the sub manager been rude to her and was nasty to me in front of her which she thought was uncalled for and unprofessional. Andrew was not happy to hear what she said, but didn't say anything to me about it after. He told the customer he would handle it and thanked her for coming in.
Later in the day, a man came in to discuss a problem! I had been working with him on a transaction last friday, and couldn't figure it out, so had asked the substitute manager to help me. She made a mistake with it, which resulted in todays complaint... he too was VERY unhappy!
We had an older man come in who had opened a CD with the substitute manager last week and HE was upset about the way it had been handled.
It was just one complaint after another today!
My manager told me that if I was able to handle these things we wouldn't need to have this woman coming in to fill in for him. :( I'm obviously NOT learning as quickly as he'd like. I'm so frustrated... I really am trying, but I'm not learning as fast as I used to, even though I'm really trying to.
I really wish I could find a job that's a NO-brainer like I feel right now.
I don't expect anyone to have any answers for my situation, but I sure did need to VENT!
