Yep, medicare claims processor... that's me.
I spend 48 hrs a week trapped in a cubicle trying to sort out claims so that they can be paid for our older americans.
I am NOT thrilled with my job. The pay is fair, the benefits are great, but the work itself pretty much sucks eggs.
I actually interviewed today for a different job and am waiting with bated breath for a call telling me I have the job. I used to be a nurses aide; I worked 3 yrs in a nursing home and 1 year as a private care aid to an elderly man in his home. I also worked 4 yrs as an ambulance attendant. I seriously enjoy helping people, what can I say?
So anyway, I'm trying to get hired as a personal care aid through an agency so I will be able to do what I enjoy and still have benefits.
The interview went well, except that I was told I am "over-qualified". I couldn't help but ask how THAT is a bad thing. I pointed out that I am quite capable of doing the requirements of the job and would be rather handy in a medical emergency besides!
The only thing about the interview that I am seriously concerned about is that I was asked if I could do data entry for thier medicare claims if needed. UGGGGGGGGGG I don't wanna!

Well I hope you can get the job you're wanting. If not, be patient and just keep applying. You know the old saying....."good things come to those who wait".
Best wishes head your way!!!! :)

Thanks ladies!
I know some will think I'm nuts trying for a "lesser job" but I see it as a positive step in my emotional health and well being. :p

If you can find what you truly want to do, then it is no longer is work. Money isn't everything. A lifetime of health and happiness is worth more than all the gold in the world. :)

Well said Janet!
I never minded doing that kind of work, and have to force myself to go in to work now. I know where I need to be...
