Is Everybody Done?

Are all of you done shopping, wrapping, grocery shopping for the Christmas meal, cards sent out, etc ~ etc...Are ya ready for Christmas? It's just 9 short days away. :p

Hubby and I are heading out today to Toys R Us for one last present. Then tomorrow I ship it out. A treat will be to go to Red Lobster for lunch since it's right next door. YUMMY! Even though I can't breath so unable to taste anything, I still know it will be good, ha haaaa.

I only sent cards out to my kids and parents this year. Normally I have boxes full to send out but not this year. Just didn't have it in me. :o

I will go grocery shopping this week for Christmas dinner. Hubby is going to smoke a ham and I will make all the fixings. All of you are welcome to come! :D

Next Saturday, the 22nd we will have our Little over so I can give her our gifts and make her dinner. She wants Taco Salad and to make brownies. So, that's what we shall do.

All in all I'm done.....and I'm thrilled. ;)

Sheryl, I have two presents bought so far for my son and no one else. I usually shop on the weekends and they've been crappy. I shopped a lot last year on line and I should have this year. I'm afraid they may not get here in time if I shop online now. I want to go shopping with you and then to Red Lobster!!! That has to be one of my top two places to eat at. Yum!

I never send cards to family...LOL I see them whenever I want..I just send to friends and then not every year.

My shopping is done, but I don't have a single card written on yet. We're going to my brothers for Christmas next Sunday... both he and my oldest dd work in health care, so will be working on Christmas this year, so we had to improvise in order to get together. So I'm not doing a lot of cooking for a big group.

On Christmas Day I'll have dh home, Joel and Shannon, Josh and Katie all here, so a much smaller group than usual. I asked dh if he wants me to invite either of our mothers here for dinner on Christmas day and he wasn't at all enthusiastic about it, so I guess I won't go that route. LOL He prefers to spend the day here with our own kids, so I'll give him that.

I'm almost done, but not 100%. There's no snow here, so it shouldn't be too hard.
I just do not want to go to Toys R Us again! I'll go tomorrow early and hope they have what I need.

I have a great online card place which I use a lot. I bought some vintage(?) Christmas postcards on e-Bay for those people who don't have email, and have some money gifts and cookies to give.

Janet - after I sent this thread I remembered you trying to get out but unable to due to bad weather every weekend. I also thought of you when I was eating at Red Lobster because I remember it being one of your favorite places to eat. I believe it was your hubby who gave you a gift to go there one day for your Birthday?

Judy - Toys R Us today was an absolute mad house. So much NOT the place I wanted to be today. I suggest you wear full body armor when you go cuz those insane folks will knock you down. :eek:

Tink - I think a good Christmas present for you this year would be a quiet weekend in a cabin tucked away in the woods, all quiet and stuff! :p

I know, I know! I tell you we have had things we've HAD to go to like you wouldn't believe!! Last week I had play practice for 2 days, performed the play for 2 days, on Sunday night we had a cast party, had the school's Christmas pageant last Thursday, had little kid's play practice yesterday, their performance today, and a Christmas party at church tonight. Besides Christmas stuff my daughter decided to go to the Christmas dance at the last minute so we borrowed a gown and I'm trying to turn it into a size 4 from a size 9-10....which I've done but I have to do some work on the hem to make it shorter. I'm hosting Glen's family party here at the house on the 29th and my family on Jan. 5th. And........I still have to figure in some shopping time if I can keep my sanity!!!!! And then, hubby wants to "cut back on Christmas gifts"!!!!!! Great idea.........WHERE? Anyway the pictures are coming!!! Honest I'll find time somewhere!!!

BTW--Has anyone found any marbles? I'm losing mine!!!!! And if you hear something that sounds like a really loud scream............don't worry.............it's just me letting off steam!!!!!! OMG--I think that the panic is setting in!!!!

The pagents and plays were great and I have pictures, if I ever find time to post them. And I realized later that I forgot a couple of things from my list. You would think that living in a small town we would just be sitting around with nothing going on but that's not so. Our church is a very active church and we keep really busy with activities there.

I'm calming down a little bit today. My husband and I are going to Wichita to work on our Christmas lists!! I won't be home until Tuesday night. Wednesday I HAVE to get Jaci's dress done!!!

I was shocked when dh was on the phone with his mother and I ehard him invite her here for Christmas day after telling me he'd rather not. LOL

I will be done tonight I hope! I'm going to look for a sweater for Kyle and I should maybe get something for my brother too. I still have to wrap almost everything! I got a digital camera for my parents in the mail a long time ago so that one is already wrapped. I have presents for my cousin's kids that I still need to wrap and then send in the mail! It's coming too fast this year!

If the roads don't get any better soon, then I'll just have to have my husband drive me to Lafayette to finish up my shopping. I've never been this slow to having it all bought and wrapped...it's making me a little nervous..lol I may have to settle for gift cards and I really prefer to buy a gift.

I am done shopping and I just started wrapping tonight! Luckily, I don't have class so this next week I can spend lots of time baking and wrapping and doing all of the fun Christmas things! :)
