Major transformation

3221 Last night Chip was a dirty mess. Matted; woodchips hanging on his butt and dirty.

3222 This morning he went to the groomer and got "the works". Katie thought I brought the wrong dog home. LOL

Oh my, what a big difference! He looks so much more comfortable too! I bet this summer he'll appreciate being kept shorter don't you think? Do you groom them at all Tink? It's really easier than it seems, especially if it's basically just a short shave type. He looks great!

Janet, I was planning to get a clipper and learn until this lady decided to open a boarding kennel/grooming salon about a mile from me and for the full groom she charges a whole $25... heck at that price let someone else wrestle with him! lol
A clipper able to do a standard poodles coat is well over $100 and then you've got the nails, bath, anal glands and blow drying to do besides... well worth the money for me!

She didn't do as nice a job as the other lady did with Moses, but she's also half the money and Chip's not as willing to cooperate. For what she had to work with I really didn't feel I could complain.

I know what you mean Tink, I need to change clothes after giving mine a bath and they're little ones. I can just imagine what it was like for Janet the other day with her "crew".

Chip looks great, and I'm sure he feels much better.

Wow! He does look a lot different!!! I'm sure that he'll stay a lot cleaner with the shorter cut! I've got to get Reuger shaved before he finds some stickers to get into!!!

Janet, being a breeder, will "get" this... some of the rest of you might too so please forgive me for "over explaining".
I was so excited last night to see Chip finally start to lift his leg! Canada went out in the run with the others for a while to get some exercise and he seems to have decided he had to impress her (their queen) with his new mature look and manliness. lol

By lifting his leg rather than squatting like a puppy or girl, he's showing his "harem" that he's sexually mature. He went all around the run last night leaving his scent to warn off other male dogs.

lol, they grow up so fast! He looks so great, Tink and I agree that it has to be more comfortable. i know this may sound stupid but... you know how we get headaches from having very long hair. i wonder if dogs feel something comparable?

Traci, I don't think that's a stupid question. I've wondered that myself. He had long hair and mats... so there's a lot of weight there I would think.
