Gina, you live in NJ right? I'm in Central NJ and I don't believe this weather! Going outside is like walking into a wet towel. My sister invited us over to swim and I told her it was too hot to swim! (My kids gave me the )

Terri I am in Central NJ too... yes it is unbelievable, I could go into my brothers pool to but opted to stay home and do what, I don't know...lol I didnt even go to work today. I went food shopping but the air is so thick I ran back home....So here I am catching up on my threads and just hanging out with the dog...lol. Stay cool!

It's 87 degrees here, but we're under a severe thunderstorm watch. The air is so thick you could cut it with a knife. The few days have been in the 90's, but I sure can't tell much difference. I hope the storms aren't too bad this afternoon and this evening.

Our high is 72* today, and we're getting light rain right now. We had a severe storm last night and the spotters were called out but nothing happened except for some light flooding. We've had warnings for severe weather almost every other day lately so we've really been watching the radar. My husband is getting tired of having wet ground because he's needing to get in and get stuff planted. I don't know when it's going to happen because we have rain for most of the week but.......forecasts can change.

Gina, maybe we could have a mini-meetup! And Angie, if you ever come back we could really have one! I live in Spotswood.

I'm in Rhode Island - we've been in the mid 90's for the past couple of days - I get VERY cranky in the heat.

Right now I feel very lucky. I'm sorry it's so hot for you all. It's 72 degrees here. Wisconsin has had a lot of flooding from all the rain, but even that has stayed south of me, so I can't complain. It's wet and humid here, but according to what toerhs are having, I don't feel I have ANY right to complain.

I gave up any plans of packing today and went to the beach. The cold water is delicious!

Tomorrow is going to be as hot. I can't go back to the beach. The sun is too strong for 2 days in a row.

Think about going from this heat into the cold water of the ocean! Instant cool down. I love that shock of cold on hot skin.

Teri sounds good to me..... Judy I saw Coney Island on the news it was packed.. You did the best thing its so much cooler at the beach. I stayed home and took a nap I had a busyweekend and was out late each night. So it felt good resting..

Tomorrow another hot one, stay cool .

My thermometer said 90 at 7 this morning! YUCK! My two teenagers were soooo crabby this morning. I know it's the heat, and the end of school stress (finals start Thurs) so I just ignored it! Some of the schools have been having early dismissal because of the heat. Our district did not "because the schools are air conditioned". Well, this morning my kids tell me half the classrooms the AC isn't even working! And my son is doing golf in gym...yesterday they had them out in the middle of the baseball field hitting golf balls. I swear, this district is run my mindless morons. I used to be on the Board of Education (6 long years, 2 of them as President) and I saw this district from the inside. Heaven forbid someone THINK or make an adjustment to one of their "rules". :mad:I told my kids if they have a class where there is no airconditioning (and most of Megan's there aren't even windows!), feel free to go to the office and tell them they have to sit there or they are going to pass out. If they won't let them stay, I told them to call me. I've always been a rebel:D

Poor kids! I taught a couple of summers ago n a school which wasn't air conditioned. Summer school buildings have to have a/c. It wasn't until Channel 2 news got it onto TV, that we finally got our a/c's (which had been sitting in the basement all that time).

The good thing was that I weighed 123.5 lbs after that summer.

Half the people at the beach yesterday were high school kids who cut school.

I feel sorry for all of you with the heat wave. Here in FL it is in the mid 90's. So glad I don't have to be out for very long. At least we don't have floods like some of the Country.

It's the humidty that's really knocking me out - my asthma is out of control right now.

I'm with you Dobie. I don't mind the heat so much...I like a good sweat to clean out the pores, but when the humidity is so high you can't breath, then I would rather stay in. It's so hot here, but I'm not going to complain.

Welcome to my world ladies!!!! You get used to it. It's been in the mid to high 90's around here, and it's always humid. I take a shower in the morning and one when I get home. Makes you feel so much better. Actually, I just checked and it's a little cooler today, 89 with a heat index making it feel like 95. It will get hotter later in the afternoon. It's 12:30 pm right now.
