Tornado Pictures

On July 16th, there was a tornado at the lake by my hometown where my family has a cabin. The tornado hit just in a bay, but pretty close to shore. I don't think there was any major damage done. Anyways, yesterday my friend emailed me pictures of it and it looks pretty cool!

Lindsey that is so awesome!!! Was it a bad storm or something, because I see white clouds and blue sky? I saw something like that....and it was called a cold weather funnel. Our tornadoes here are black and gray and ugly. I've also heard them called something else over the water, but can't remember what it is.

I don't even know what the weather was like. To be honest, I didn't even know there was a tornado until almost a month later :) My parents never tell me about cool stuff like that lol
It does seem like it was nice weather, other than the one large black cloud where the tornado was. That's very interesting though.
We've had quite a few tornados around my hometown, but I have never ever been there while it happened! I remember one year my family went away for the weekend and when we got home we found out there was a huge tornado and one of my classmates had his whole farm destroyed by it! :eek: Luckily none have ever hit the town though, it's just always been farms, or in this case the lake!
Oh yeah and about 3 years ago there was a plough wind out there too. It was the end of April and it all of a sudden got very cold and there was a ton of snow dumped everywhere. Then this big plough wind came and knocked a bunch of trees over, destroying a bunch of cabins and power lines. At the time I lived 4 hours away from home and that same day I got a sun burn :D

Your friend got some really, really good pictures!!! I bet that it made a pretty exciting day for your friend. Too bad that you missed it.

We have water spouts on the bays around here sometimes. I've seen some amazing pictures of them. Lindsey, these are really cool pics. Thank goodness there was very little damage!!
