Yes, it's almost time for another American election, and now our Canadian government has called another election for October 14th! This will be our 3rd election in 4 years. I have to say, I am partial to one party in particular, but I will have just over a month to read up and figure out how to vote this time around. Election day is Tuesday after our Thanksgiving long weekend

Thanks :) I'm happy with how things are now. Canada's economy is booming and we haven't had any big political scandals lately. So I'm hoping our current prime minister can pull off another win!

lol well basically here, we've had minority governments for the past few years. Jean Chretien stepped down and Paul Martin became Prime Minister but with close votes, he only had a minority government. That means when there's some unrest with the opposition in parlaiment, another election can be called before the term is up. There was a lot of stuff going on with the liberal party back then, with corruption and money stealing, and he just couldn't handle all the flack his party was getting. So 2 years ago another election was called, and the Conservatives won by just a margin, so they are another minority government. The opposition leaders have been disagreeing with how Harper is running the country, so it's time to vote again.
Basically, when the other parties think the pm is doing a bad job, there is the option for another election.
However, I think he's doing a good job, and the Liberal party is talking about bringing in a carbon tax thing which will screw over my province :) So I'm definitely voting to keep him!

Well our election was yesterday. I went and voted after work. Then on the radio today I heard it was the lowest voter turnout in Canada's HISTORY! Less than 59%!!! Anyways, it turns out nothing has changed. The big players are the Conservatives and the Liberals... the Conservatives had a minority government and they called another election, and they ended up with another minority government! But sooooo close to majority! They got 144 seats and needed 155 to become majority. So chances are very good that there will be another election before the 4 year term is up.
