My friend had a birthday party today for her baby girl, Roxy. We had it at a shopping center that was having, Dogtoberfest! It was a HOOT! They had a doggie costume contest and there were the cutest dogs there in costume. The stores participated by having doggie treats and the dogs were allowed to go into all the stores. Several stores selling pet products around town had outdoor booths set up and were selling the cutest things!!! There was a silent auction benefiting a couple of rescue groups.
We stayed for a couple of hours. It was so much fun!!! I"m posting some pictures.
1. Roxy's birthday cake (for doggies ONLY!)
2. Roxy eating her cake
3. Rowdy in his party hat

Oh, I forgot - I was standing at a booth with Rex & Rowdy and someone asked me who did their grooming. I said "Shelly at Diamonds in the Ruff". A lady also standing at the booth with the tinest, cutest little yorkie I had EVER seen, said to me, "Are you on Yorkie Talk?" I said, "yes". She said, "This is Leo and you answered me on YT a couple weeks ago about a groomer for him". My jaw dropped, I couldn't believe I ran into someone from YT.
Another cool story. If you are on YT, you may have seen that a little girl yorkie was lost or stolen out of her backyard in Austin. She was lost on Sept. 24th and her mom got her back on Oct. 24th (just yesterday). Here's the thread from YT http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/general-yorkshire-terrier-discussion/150141-i-found-her-i-have-my-baby-back.html
Anyway, I told her by pm that I would be at Dogtoberfest and invited her to come. SHE DID and brought Kitty, the little girl she just got back yesterday. She was also a tiny tiny girl and SO CUTE.
So, you can see, it was a fun fun day!!!
Oh, and then my TEXAS LONGHORNS won their football game!!! Ahhhhh, the perfect end to a perfect day!! :)
Gayle looks like a great birthday party, thanks for sharing the pictures and so happy about the girl who found her little girl... That is an awesome ending.. :)

Gayle, I loved the pictures. I wish our town or one close did something for the doggies. Our Humane Society has a small Walkathon, but they frown at you if you take a full blooded and not a rescue, so we never go to that.
Looks like a great birthday party for sure. I don't go to YT very often anymore so I'm glad you posted the link. What a great story. Sure does seem that as soon as some finds a Yorkie, you read that they cut all their hair off. So strange. At least it grows back..lol
I'm glad you had a great day! The pictures are so cute. And, the team I'm rooting for (as per your instructions), WON!
The story about the lost dog being found was wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing this. Do they have to have a bath after eating that cake????

I'm RowdysMom on YT - I mostly just cruise the Off Topic forum on YT. Too much drama on the Yorkie related threads.
No, they didn't need a bath - they are yorkies after all :) They mostly just picked at the cake and licked some of the peanut butter flavored icing! They did enjoy it though.
