It is only 6;30 PM here and it already is so dark outside. I feel like I should be in bed fast asleep or something. I do like that it is a little lighter of a morning, so much easier to see the students. But nighttime it just feels so late and it's early...LOL

It's really dark here and we're in a tornado watch. It just rained cats and dogs and it looks like we're going to get some more. Since we live in the country we keep a pretty close eye on the internet radar. I just hate this kind of weather!!!

You all are under a tornado watch? Guess we'll need to start keeping a closer eye on the weather here too. You all stay safe!

Such weird weather!!! We are NOT supposed to have tornados in November!!!

I remember one January back in the 70's. I was driving to work before daylight and I was in an ice storm - ice balls were pelting my car and in the sky was the most spectacular lightening storm I had ever seen. It was like the ice coming down was magnifying and electrifying the lightening. It was so spookey!!

I also hate that it is so dark so early!!! I know it is better for the kiddos to stand at the bus stop in the mornings - so I can tolerate the early darkness - but I don't like it. Oh well, it could be worse - my friend in Alaska is moving quickly toward about 18 hours of darkness each day!! GADS!

Janet you better check your weather report. Up north we're supposed to get rain this afternoon & possible severe weather.

I couldn't handle 18 hours of darkness I would go crazy. The winter makes me depressed as it is.

I wouldn't be able to handle 18 hours of darkness either...wow. I have a hard enough time with seasonal depression...I'm afraid that would send me over the edge.

It is starting to cloud up today, but still suppose to be 71 degrees I think. This storm system is suppose to bring in much cooler temps. Yuk!

Galyle I don't like the time change either. I like to have longer days in the evening...the kids can carry a flashlight...LOL. just kidding.

The bad weather passed without any problems. Whenever we have nice warm days and a cold front coming through we can have tornados even if it's January. I think that the cold air from the Rocky Mountains help to fuel unstable weather. We just always keep an eye on the radar.

We did have a tornado nearby years ago and my phone rang off the hook with friends and neighbors calling. We were standing in the yard watching it! I have a picture somewhere!!!

Thank God you are safe Diana. We don't usually get too bad a weather this late in the year, but everything has changed so much so we need to keep an eye on things. I would really love to see the picture if and when you find it. No hurry of course, I just find 'first hand' pictures really interesting than news or TV. I think the bad weather is due here this evening, but the weather guy hasn't said how bad yet.

We've had beautiful weather for the past few days, but I think some rain and colder air is moving in. I can't wait for the snow!

Janet i know what you mean, Micah's sleep schedule is so screwed up right now, especially since he's been sick too, he's going to bed at 6-7 pm and getting up at 2-3 am.. he's killing me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You'll just have to keep him awake for awhile longer Haley once he's feeling better. It doesn't really affect me any except to say that it seems I should be in bed, but I'm not tired. Getting dark so early just makes be feel like I should be in bed...lol.

Guess I'll just have to spend more time on the puter....LOLOL

My daughter posted this to Weather Underground but Glen actually took the picture. It wasn't very far from the house and just hung in the sky for quite awhile. It never touched down and there were alot of other funnel clouds on this day. I had a basement full of neighbors and family.

Oh wow Diana, what a great picture!!! Thank you for posting it so fast.

I bet you all really had a great time in your basement huh? A tornado party so to speak?

Diana, so glad y'all are safe and had no damage!!!! What strange weather for this time of year.

I really wish the time did not have to change. In a month, I'll be driving home from work in the dark. I'd much rather drive to work in the dark in the morning, but know this is safer for the school children, and they are more important. I do find the early dark depressing though.

Marilyn, the picture was taken years ago. Not recently and there wasn't any damage from it.

I wish that they'd just leave us on DST. Personally I'd rather have the daylight longer in the evening. I always have a hard time adjusting to the time changes.

That is a fabulous picture Diana. I'm so glad you guys didn't have a tornado.

I also don't like DST at all. It seems to be nighttime right after lunch.
