Flu Time Again !!!!!

What a flipping week i had since last Thursday, Micah got the flu, Thank God his fever broke yesterday finally, i had to rotate Motrin and Tylenol every four hours, luke warm baths all the time, i would be waking up at 2 am to find him burning up next to me off the the bath tub for a nice bath.. oh boy, then i got it right after him its no picnic taking care of a baby while your sick..... Now Mike has it, and he's been working 10 hour days now everyday.. cause he got behind. oh forgot a funeral in between all this crap, Mikes grandmother passed away...
At least im starting to feel better and Micah also, But Mike is bad i really think he has a sinus infection, but he can't take time off work to even go see a doctor his boss is bitching they need to get this job done, so the poor man is so sick working 10 hours a day everyday now...

I've had a stomach bug since Sunday evening, went home early on Monday, out Tuesday, better yesterday, queasy again today. Hubby and I are carpooling, so I'm waiting for him to come take me home.

No, no flu shoots, none of us in my family can take them they make us very ill my cousin almost died with the flu shoot.. Nope....

Wow Haley, it's awful when sickness runs through a family. I'm always afraid it will start all over again. Will Mike's Dr. call something in for him? My Dr. will for me, but not for my husband or son. I usually get the same thing so he calls in a zpac for me.

I hope you all get to feeling better really quick. Sandy..you too. I can take different sicknesses but having the stomach flu is the worst. Feel better soon!!

I was starting to wonder where you were, Haley. I'm so sorry that all of you are sick. I can remember times that I was sick and taking care of kids, even sick kids. I always prayed that my husband would catch stuff first because then he would be much more sympathetic and helpful. I know that's mean but otherwise he thought that I could just handle everything on my own, even when sick. I hope that everyone gets better soon.

Thanks Diana, i'm feeling better, Micah is getting there, but Mike is bad now,, and he is such a BABY when he is sick, he's getting on my last nerve! I'm trying to be patient with him... but he's pushing it... It felt like forever before Micah's fever broke, i felt so bad for him, he would just cry and cry and cry... i just rocked him until he fell asleep, you just feel so useless... its heatbreaking....

Diana, that's an awesome thought for the Hubby to get sick first. Mine literally goes into hibernation when he gets "sick". I am seeing that my Hubby is learning to be more helpful since I've been off my feet lately.

I love that kind of cough medicine...LOLOL..:D I do have to say though that every year I get a horrible nasty cough. One that lasts for weeks on end and every time I cough...sorry, but I pee. It was just horrible.

BUT....since I've stopped smoking...I haven't had that cough at all. I'm so glad I don't do that any more. I wish I would have quit a long time ago.

Now I only pee when I get a good laugh...LOLOL (or at a normal time)...lolol

Haley, I remember getting the flu when my daughter was a baby - I thought I would die and her dad was no help at all. Thank goodness, she didn't get it. One time when I was in my late 30's and she was about 13, we both got the flu together. All we could do was lay on the couch or chair or bed and look at each other. We were too sick to even help each other. Thankfully, my current husband (different from when she was a baby) helped us out as best he could, but he had to go to work everyday. It lasted 10 days, I thought we would NEVER get over it

I'm so sorry that Micah has been so sick. How old is he? I remember when my daughter was little and she had a high fever and I had to put her in the tub repeatedly. It was awful!

Janet - I'm an ex-smoker. I quit a little over 4 years ago (after 20 years of a pack a day). I can't even stand to be around other smokers now. NOBODY in my family smokes now, but Hubby and son dip Skoal.

Micah is 20 months old, he now started pulling on his ear this morning, going to try and get him to the doctors tonight if not were going to med express, i just hope to God he don't have an ear infection that's all i need.
My job is transfering me to ET next week, so its going to be tough, i have to work 10 hours now and only get paid for 8 this sucks!!!!

Yea but he got up crying this morning and he's tugging on his right ear, i'm taking him to the doctor's right after work and get his ears looked at, hopefully he don't have an ear infections.. oh that poor kid be sick for over a week now, when does it end....

Taking Micah to the doctor because of tugging at his ear is what I would do. I never let possible ear aches go or I'd be up in the night with a crying, hurting child. So definitely have him looked at.

Were going at 6 when daddy gets home cause he's getting checked too, he had rininging in his ears for the last two days.. I'm getting them both checked out cause there driving me crazy.... not Micah, his father is.... the big baby!!!!

ugh I hear ya, I have something too and can't take time off of work. Ive eaten nothing but a banana yesterday some Lipton ring-o-noodle soup and some mashed potatoes. Today only a banana and mashed potatoes all day. This is no fun. Im starving but nothing will stay with me. Not to mention, have you noticed how many food commercials there are on tv? I never noticed until I was STARVING and couldn't eat. Me and my boyfriend are both sick with some kind of stomach bug and neither of us can eat much and hold it down or in, but last night we were watching tv and wishing we could have pizza, a sub, ham, turkey dinner, friendlys, chilis, outback, subway, dominoes! LOL

I know, i'm still not feeling good, Micah goes to the doctors tonight to check on his ear infections, my husband is ok, he had a big glob of ear wax stuck in his ear, it was so gross to watch them trying to flush that out of his ear, men are so gross, they never wash there hands or clean there ears don't know why, i'm always on him to clean his ears and wash his hands... yuk!!!!!

OH WOW... my bf is the total opposite. He uses 4 Q-tips every morning to clean his ears. :eek: LOL Ive never seen anything like it! he must have the cleanest ears around! We literally now buy Q-tips at BJs superstore so we get like 4 huge containers at once! LOL

OH I soooo hope Micah gets better quick after his doctors visit tonight! Sick babies are sooo sad, they can't tell you whats wrong or where it hurts. :(

Ww went back for our week check up and the one ear infection is gone but the one in his left ear is still infection, the doctor said it might be a different kind of bacteria in that ear so he put him on a different antibiotic, i never heard of two different ear infections in one child, he freaked me out a little bit,,, so we got them filled last night and he is on the other antibiotic now and we have to go back for another follow up next week..
oh and to top everything off one of his two year old molers came in and the other three are right behind it... teeth coming in on top of this, Ya im so flipping happy :( no wonder the kid is miserable....

Thanks Gina, Husband is the only one that's fine, Micah and i are still sick, this cough from hell will not leave me alone, and Micah's ear is still infected, and now he has a runny nose and cough, i just hope he don't have a respirtory infection, he goes back to the doctor's friday, again :(
