Here is my tree. I didn't want to put up the one we had, I just felt like it was too big and took up too much space. A few weeks back, I went to Wal Mart and bought this 6 ft tree for $35.

4572

I made the snowmen underneath and I made the Santa and fireplace below...

And then this is where we hang our stockings..

I love looking at how others decorate...so come on now...start sharing!!:)

Your tree looks very pretty!!! It fits the size of your room very well too and I love the other decorations that you have as well. I really, really like the stockings on the fireplace mantle. I so wish that we had a fireplace, especially when it comes to decorating for Christmas.

I don't have any decorations out yet so I can't post any pictures.......anyway not yet.

Well, our tree is finally in the living room, but not one decoration on it yet. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon. I've made 19 fruit cakes so far and 5 more to make tomorrow afternoon and I'll be finished. Everything is chopped and ready to go, so should be able to do some decorating, too and will try to post some pics.

I finally got the inside taken care of, I think my camera battery finally gave up the good fight
I couldn't even get pictures of my niece at her first birthday party yesterday!

Janet, I am so jealous of your huge fireplace  I love your decorations

Here are a few pictures of how I decorate. I do our tree in winter colors, this year I have it in front of the front window and a beautiful tree skirt I wish I could wear as a dress myself, I got at Marshalls on sale after the holidays last year

Gina I love your tree too. I tried to do mine in all gold with a few trinkets added in, but yours is really lovely. Maybe I should get a gold ribbon instead of the silver beads...LOL. I'm just not good at decorating.

I'd do more, but I'm just learning how to do this again. Haven't used Photobucket in over a year.

So glad we finally got our decorating done!!!

Great Holiday decorating everyone!

Sadly to others, I do no decorating at all. Makes all my friends 'nuts', they all think I should put up a tree, but for me, I would rather enjoy the sights most other people work so hard to achieve!! It is tradition for me on Christmas Eve to drive around town to peek and enjoy the festive lights others display. I so appreciate and love what so many do to celebrate this wonderous season.

Marilyn, that photo of of the inside of your tree should be your next Christmas card! Beautiful!!

Thank you all for sharing, hope to see more festive pictures soon!!

All I've done is get the tree up and it looks like that will be it for this year. For some reason I just don't have the oomph to climb in the attic and get things down. We'll be gone the week between Christmas and new years so I would be taking them down right when we get back, so I guess I'll just leave them in the attic this year.....

I love everyones decorations and tree , beautiful. Mandy I collect santas and snowmen.

Like Gayle I did not take out all my stuff this year, I put out a few snowmen usually I have my whole house decorated.. Christmas came to fast and I was to lazy to go into my attic to pull out all boxes...

I usually put out a village this year I just took out Elvis Presleys Graceland, normally the trees on sides light up and twinkle I guess the fuse burnt out.. Here are a few more shots..

I love your EP Graceland... I had never seen anything like that. My best friend absolutely LOVED Elvis.

The first pic is our Christmas tree. This is the first year we've had a full-size tree and we love it! We still use our smaller tree for family ornaments.

The second pics are my sister's Christmas photos that went on Mom's cards. I messed up the lighting on the first one, but I still think the pose is cute so I kept it.

Everyone's trees and decorations look so nice!!! I only put up my tree this year. With everything that's been going on my heart just hasn't been on Christmas. I didn't even put the ornaments on it that I usually do but I'm thinking now about how easy it's going to be to take down and put away. Maybe I should think about scaling down. Thanks so much for sharing your pictures. I really enjoyed seeing your decorations!!!

My tree is going to stay up for awhile. I just don't feel like taking it down yet. Besides, I'm going to start babysitting Karlie starting tomorrow and I'm not sure what kind of help I'd have with a 2 1/2 yr. old!!!! I'm looking forward to having her!!

Our tree is still up and probably won't come down until New Year's day or maybe even next weekend. We're still recovering from all the business (that's busyness) of the holidays. There was a lot of intense wrapping, bowmaking, cooking, baking, dishwashing, and spending time with family. We've been to three movie in the past 5 days. Not to mention the usual laundry and such. I go back to work this morning and have 1/2 day off on Wednesday, all day Thursday and back to work on Friday, so somewhere in there we have to find time to take the tree and decorations down and do a good cleaning. We're going to a church New Year's Eve party which should be fun.

Hubby has been working off and on here at home during the festivities drawing house and cabinet plans for the projects he's getting ready to start. He signed two contracts last week and hopefully another this week. We were so worried, but all is working out and his business if picking up finally.

Janet

What movies did you see Marilyn? I think Ricky and I are gong to go see Marley and Me. I read the book and the reviews say it's very good.

We're getting ready to leave for our second movie in two days. We're taking my brother Randy to see Despereaux. He LOVES going to the theater so we bought him gift certificates for Christmas. I also got my hubby some gift certificates as well and we saw Valkyrie. What have you seen so far? We still have enough left for one more movie. Any suggestions?

I really want to see Marley and me too!!! The book was so good!!

Marilyn
12-29-2008, 10:23 AM
We saw:

1. Benjamin Button - a very good movie for lots of reasons, good special effects!! and story line. Up to the standards you would expect for an actor like Brad Pit. However, do have some issues with the moral standards of the story line.

2. Twilight - a disappointment. The author wrote the screen play and they should have had a real screen writer do it. Also, it was obviously produced on a very low budget. It had potential, but the studio just did not have what it takes to make a quality production. The story line was pretty close to the book though condensed as it had to be for the time constraints, and the ending was different than the book.

3. Seven Pounds - Very good quality movie, up to the standards you would expect from Will Smith. However, without spoiling it for others, IMO, it glorified something that should not be glorified. We left concerned that others may emulate the Will Smith character.

We wanted to see Valkyrie, but by the time we got to the the ticket office (long lines on Christmas Day), there were only 20 seats left and we were a group of 5 and would have been sitting on one of the front two rows, so opted for Benjamin Button instead.

I love everybody's trees and collections (and pets!). I have my little laser tree and angel, which will stay up until next week. I also have a wreath on my front door and a lovely lighted one on my deck, which Jessie bought me.

Cleanup should take about 15 minutes if I take a coffee break in the middle. I love it!

I did find the box with my old tree and ornaments. When I get a chance, I'm going to look at them and decide if I'm going to keep it or give the good stuff to Jessie.
She has tons of my Christmas stuff all over the house. It's great having a daughter to hand these kind of things down to.

Your tree is very beautiful, Pope!!! And I love the card holder too. I need to find something like that to display my cards too. We get so many photo cards anymore that it would be nice to display them.

We took our tree down yesterday because we're having company over tonight for New Year's Eve and there will be small children. We figured that it would help the night to go better with it down and the ornaments put away.
