Woke up to a phone call this morning saying we were not having school. I looked out and WOW....we got a little over 8 inches of snow overnight and it's all white out there...lolol.

I just woke Ricky up with the news that he needs to get up and get outside to shovel. I've decided that since my back is feeling better....I'm not taking any chances. I usually like to shovel snow, but not anymore. I'll use the lawn tractor with the blade on it, but no more manual back labor...lol.

Now....let's keep our fingers crossed it melts really fast!

Diana.....did you get some birthday snow???:)

The ground was white this morning but just barely! The school called last night to say that we were canceled today too but it's not because of the snow. It must be the thin layer of ice that we got. The sun was out this afternoon and everything's pretty much melted off. I wish that we had your 8 inches!!!!! We didn't even get enough snow to sled with. Bummer!

My son's college recording woke us up at 5:30 :( the recording said it may close then fifteen minutes later.. they said school having a delay opening. My son didn't even have classes today. lol

It snowed about 2-5 inches by me but it turned to slush in the afternoon, With weather dropping it will ice up. Tomorrow suppose to be a better day..

Janet I am glad that you had a day off so that call was good for you :) Take care of that back you won't want to get pain again.

I'm really being careful Gina....I do not want to go through that back pain again. It's suppose to get down to 2 tonight and in the morning so I don't know yet if we'll have a two hour delay or not. They usually wait until that morning to let us know. Ricky did get the drive all cleaned out and was able to get to work this evening.

I'd be glad to send all this snow to you Diana. I want it to melt but with temps near zero...it's not gonna happen fast.

I'm confused about our weather. We were supposed to get 8 or more inches, then an icy mix until morning. If that happens, I'm not going out.

This afternoon it rained and it was melting the stuff on the roads. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. Maybe it will warm up and some of this will melt.

I park down the hill. My parking spot is up the hill, and the million steps in the photos go to my house. I found that way was ridiculous, so up the hill I went. But...carrying my packages up that hill in the snow for the past couple of weeks is so hard. I would love to drive up the hill to make a path to my house (not allowed - tough!), but I almost got stuck this morning trying to do that.

I just need a plow for about 10 minutes. Is that too much to ask?

I don't think I could walk uphill when it's bad out. The older I get the more afraid of falling I get.

JANET! It's not fear of falling, it is using your head!!! It is VIGILANCE - we vigilantly watch out for those things that will be harmful to us. As we age, and get more experience, we use our head to only engage in activities that are safe, because we know we can be harmed. When we are young, we are invincible (it won't happen to us). There is some research to show that the more vigilant we are, the less likely we are to be sick or injured!

See, you just didn't know how smart you are!!!!

And no Judy, I don't mean you are not smart for walking up the hill! :D Sometimes we have to do what it takes to get the job done (or get to our house) whatever the case may be!!! You certainly cannot drive the car up the hill, nor can you stay down the hill and freeze to death!

I would love to be able to drive a plow...I think that would be so much fun. But since they won't let me.....I'll just consider moving someplace warmer.
