Hello, long day! Are you ok? I didn't get much sleep last night either. Blame it on the moon.

I went back to bed about 5:00 - had to get up and feed the dogs about 6:30 as they were going nuts. Laid back down and actually went sound to sleep till just now, about 8:00. Won't feel good today, but at least I got a little more sleep!

I don't like going without sleep either. I've been so stressed here lately that I'm not getting near the restful sleep that I need. Ususally if I start waking up between 3 and 5....it will last about a week or a little longer, then I go back to sleeping all night.

UGH! That's exactly when I woke up - about 2:45 (to let the poochies go potty - yes, they are spoiled) and then I couldn't go back to sleep. They always need to go out about that time of the night, but usually, I go right back to sleep. DARN! I don't want this to last a week!!! Maybe I'll be lucky!

It's not fun when you can't sleep and doesn't help the next day either.

I didn't sleep well last night but it was my own fault. I had a diet Pepsi with supper and I think the caffeine got to me. I woke up several times last night which is unusual for me. I was on medicine that used to knock me out and I forgot that I wasn't taking it anymore so I didn't even give it a thought until this morning, so I guess there'll be no more late night colas for me!!

I hope that you get better sleep tonight!!

I've had the same problem the last two morning, but I was staying in a hotel in Houston. Woke up at 4:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. Does make for a long day. Training today was over for me at noon and I don't have to be back until 1 p.m. tomorrow afternoon, so I drove home for the afternoon and evening. Going to sleep in my own bed for tonight, but back in the hotel tomorrow night.

Hope we ALL have a very restful night!!!

I hope whatever was not letting you go back to sleep will go away. It's not fun.

YAY!! I slept last night!!! The poopsies woke me up to go out at 12:30 and then again at 5:15, but both times I went back to sleep!!! Whoo Hooo.

I'm so glad because I have class today and then have to run to my granddaughter's volleyball scrimage right after class. I won't get home this evening till 7-8 or so. Without adequate sleep, it would not have been a fun day, but now I think I'll make it!!!

Gayle, glad you got some restful sleep last night. Around 9p, I realized that our AC wasn't cooling. The repairman came right out and got it fixed, but I didn't get to sleep until almost midnight. I was only up once, but got a good 5 hours and that's a good night's sleep for me.

Gayle, I can't believe that your dogs get up twice in the night to go outside. Reuger and Jazzi both go all night without getting up.

I am glad that you were able to get a better night's sleep. It sounds like you have a busy day. Jaci has a volleyball game tonight too. If she doesn't play she may be quitting.

Mine don't get up during the night either, thank goodness. I was home last night so got to sleep in my own bed and did much better. I'm back in Houston at the hotel tonight, but I brought my pillow, so hopefully that will help. The ones here just aren't working for me. Tomorrow is the last day of the training though, so hopefully things will be back to normal.

Gayle, so glad you got some much needed rest!!!!

Usually they only get me up about 4:30-5:00AM to go potty - but last night one needed to go at 12:30. They both can hold it - I know they can - because when we go camping and it is cold at night, they don't get up!!! But I have a soft heart and I know if they are asking to go out, it's because they need to go and I wouldn't want to lay there needing to go and not be able. Also, we have a doggie door that they go in and out at will all day/evening since my hubby is home all the time, so they have never really had to or learned how to "hold it". LOL!

I hope you are sleeping better Gayle. I used to wake up 2 or 3 times every night, and every anxiety I had caught up with me. I was working two jobs, and was just too busy to deal with anything during the day, so I did it at night. My doctor put me on ambien, and that ended that problem. Of course, it was yet another menopause related thing.

I have my yorkies pee pad trained A blessing and a curse. I really do not like cleaning every day but I never have to worry about getting home to walk them, etc.

I would get up to let mine out in the middle of the night too. How we spoil little babies!

Here I am again, up at 3:00AM. I have been working on some course revisions in our master's of nursing program and I woke up tonight thinking about them. I have to present our committee ideas to the general adult health faculty tomorrow (today) afternoon. I was thinking about our proposed changes and I could NOT go back to sleep, so I thought I would get up and write my new thoughts down so that I wouldn't forget them and now maybe I can go back to sleep because I know that I can work on them again when I get to the office later this morning.

Nite All!

I've been truly blessed as far as our yorkies go, both sleep through the night. They are up at 6:30, so sleeping in or a Saturday is difficult, but at least I can go back to sleep, sometimes.

Gayle, so hope that you were able to get back to sleep after getting up and writing your ideas down. It is so hard to turn off work sometimes and get to sleep. You are just so dedicated which is a good thing, but you need to be able to turn it off. Rex has the same problem. He will be thinking of a house design and get up in the middle of the night and he'll be at the computer designing. I guess it's kinda like an artist and their art or an author writing a novel. When the inspiration strikes whether it's an idea concerning a nursing program, or a house design, you have to capture the thought.

Ha! Thanks Marilyn, I'm not sure mine was inspiration or just plain being afraid I'd forget by morning :D Oh and the yorkies didn't get me up this time - it was just me who woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. I can't even blame them this time!!!

I know that I often have new ideas after sleeping. It's funny how the mind keeps working on our problems while we sleep.

Hopefully, you'll get good rest after you present your ideas to the committee. You're such a professional that you'll do a wonderful job!!

Sometimes I get more decision making done while I'm sleeping and then I wake up soooo tired.

Gayle I have plenty of nights when I have so much on my mind I either am up all night or wake up early during the night like you do. Not fun but things will subside as you become relaxed.. Try to leave your thoughts outside the bedroom door at night. Not easy.. lol

Gina, I'm going to try that - I'll leave them on the couch in the living room!!!

Gayle, are you sleeping any better?

gja1000
09-21-2009, 05:00 PM
Yes, I am - thanks for asking Diana. I don't know why, but every few weeks I have to go through a few days of not being able to sleep - thankfully, it doesn't happen too often.

That's good. I'm glad to hear that you're sleeping better. Why do you suppose you have trouble every so often? Hormones? Worry about bills?

Occasionally, I can't relate sleeplessness to anything, but usually it is related to something I wake up worrying about and I can't get it out of my head.

OK, didn't sleep much last night - gonna be a looooong day - got back to back to back meetings and then class at 3:00P (sigh).

It wasn't my fault though, this time, nor the boys fault. Gary had trouble breathing last night and I found him sitting up in the lazy boy chair about 3:00AM. So, I gave him a breathing treatment and then, of course, couldn't go back to sleep. I bet I sleep good tonight!

Is the weather change hard on Gary?

gja1000
09-23-2009, 05:00 PM
I hope that is it or that it was just a fluke and NOT the new medicine that he started on which might cause shortness of breath. :(

When he was sitting on the side of the bed, getting ready to lay down last night, I asked him if he'd had any trouble breathing during the day and he said "no". But just as soon as he lay down, he said, "I am now". So, I thought it might be another long night. But this morning, he said that the feeling passed and he slept pretty good last night, and so did I! :)
