Thank you so much Gayle.

I am trying to evaluate him outside but they told me his insurance won't cover it. I did call the insurance and they said they are willing to pay two hours of testing so now I'm waiting to see what my out of pocket expense will be. The test run from 2,000-3,000 but I don't mind getting a loan if it will help.

I will look into the organizations and see what we have in my area. Even if it's not dyslexia I need to know how to help him.

Can you guys believe one of my sons teacher told him not to get help from me or else he wont learn. And wrote me a letter saying I should let him do the thinking

I work with my son every night and I will not let him go to school with the wrong answers. But that doesn't mean I give him the answers. For one page of reading with 6 questions can take him 2 hours to finish because I make him look for the answers. There has been times where I even tell him to sleep and tell me in morning what he thought the answer is. I myself have mind freeze very often so I understand when he can't come up with answers but I make him re-read passages and give him hints but never the answer.

I email her, the principle and the educational adviser. That is unacceptable to me.

Maybe you should talk to the teacher and ask what would be the right way to help your son and explain how it is that you're helping him. Then you can both be working together in helping your son. Good luck!

Thank you Diana. She did sort of apologize and I calmed down. I went ahead and email her how I work with him and told her if she has any more suggestions to let me know. I ask how she wants to see his homework and I will work to see my son does it.

That's good. I hope that things work out for all of you to work out his best way to learn.
