aww thanks ladies...I guess I worry too much. I'm the person who stops to check on a dog that is on the side of the road hit, then goes knocking on doors to let the owner know.

Oh man Chandra Amaya... that's really nice that you'd go to that length for someone else's animal.

I wish I had a neighbor like you!

If you think you feel silly, imagine how MY old neighbor felt when he stopped to tell me there were 2 dogs froze butt to butt up the road! I did not have the guts to tell him what was really going on, so I thanked him and promised to call the neighbor they belonged to. I can only imagine how HE felt when he got to work and started telling his story to co-workers with dogs!

It was great of him to be so concerned that I just couldn't embarrass him. :o

The funniest part is he was the boss! Hes a very smart, successful man who just didn't happen to know how dogs do what they do. LOL

With the weather warming up horses LOVE to lie down. My Wildflower lies down A LOT with her head flat on the ground. She is sleeping. Believe it or not this is very NORMAL for horses.

Now...if you say the horse is NOT moving when you try to stir it then that's BAD. either it has colic or twisted intestines or a broken leg. Any horse that is stirred up SHOULD get up right away. Their instinct is flight during fright I might say...

You did a very nice thing Chandra by trying to get in touch w/ the nieghbors. If you are near by maybe you can try to stir the horse again/spook it if you have too. Yell, whatever. BUT>>> do NOT go into that pasture. A frightened horse or if injured can cause severe injury to you if he runs you over, etc.

Now the day Wildflower got caught up in the barbed wire fence about a month or so ago. She too was lying flat, head down and did NOT respond to my neighbor yelling at her. He too thought she was dead.

She was injured though and knew she couldn't move. A horse when trapped in a fence either lies very still or goes balistic and makes the injury worse. luckily Wildflower stayed calm.

Kudo's to you !!!! I hope this horse is going to be ok. Sorry for my delay in response. I left the house for a bit.

That reminded me of when I was little. I was looking out our kitchen window and I yelled to Mom..."Mom hurry" she came running and I said "these two dogs butts are stuck together" and all my Mom said was "get away from the window." LOLOL Guess she wasn't in the mood to explain things....LOL
