So very sorry to hear your news!! We will be praying for you all.

Janet 02-20-2008 03:17 PM

Angie, Debbie and Traci I want to offer my condolences to you all and your families. You have each other to help get through this sad time.

Thank you all. We have had an even harder time dealing with this loss because mom's levels have dropped. She couldn't go to the funeral. It was also 90 miles away so the drive was much too long for her. I tried telling her that our Uncle knows she loved him and she replied that she isn't sure that he did. I know better. He always called mom first when he got to my grandmother's house. He wouldn't have wanted mom to put herself in danger to go to the wake. In my opinion, seeing someone then means nothing. It's all the times she came to see him while he was here that matters.

You're so right Traci!! Please hug your Mom for me.

Thanks for letting us know, Traci. I'm sure that your uncle knew that Debbie loved him. Sometimes we don't have to say the words for another person to know how we feel. I'm so sorry that your family is dealing with so much lately.

I know your uncle appreciated Debbie. She's so wonderful.

I'm sorry she's not feeling well. Please send her my best.

Time to light a candle for her.

Thank you all so much. My Uncle Walt was such a good man. He was a minister and was always so much fun to be around even though he was always in a lot of pain. I had talked to his wife 3 days before he died and they were both insisting they were coming here when I have surgery even though they were neither one able to make the drive and sit at the hospital. I took my mom to the hospital the day he passed away. It was an hours drive and he was on life support by the time we got there. I think somehow he knows I was there for him anyway.

He is resting with God now but remember his wife in your prayers. They were married 53 years and she is devastated as is his three daughters. One is having an especially hard time since she was always "Daddy's girl"

It sounds like he was a wonderful man. It's so good that you and your Mom were there to say goodbye.

I will keep his family in my prayers.

He was a wonderful man. He and my aunt were both great people. I sent a card to them just two christmases ago telling them how they are my inspiration. They have been married since high school. Although, I am sure they had difficult times you could still see the love for each other in their eyes. They are and were my reason to know that love and marriage can work. My aunt is such a strong person, but she has been through so much already. She actually had to carry a baby that she knew had died for six weeks until she went into labor because they did not have the technology to take it when it died. I do not see how she survived with any sanity. Now she has lost the man that she has loved since she was just a kid. I am glad my uncle is no longer in pain, but please remeber to send your thoughts to my aunt. She needs them. Thank you all so much for everything you do and say for my family. You have no idea how much it means to us.
