I am a live in companion to a mentally challenged adult. I refer to him online as Sumtingwong. He is on the level of about a 7 to 9 year old. He has serious behaviour issues and requires constant supervision. So I have his 18 hours M-F and 24 hours S-S. I love him dearly and he has became my extended family. We have been together for almost 3 years now. His team of extended services providers believe that since I have been working with him he is at the most stable position of his life. If I had to describe my job actually it is very similiar to being a stay at home mom, except I do paperwork, have meetings and answer to an entire team of supports.

I love you Diana! :sidesplit:
You guys have really interesting, diversified jobs. God Bless Women!!! Now I'm going to gloat a bit! I'm an very, very happily retired teacher. I taught mostly high school science and health. I still teach Saturday mornings at a community college nearby. I teach English there. I absolutely love teaching, loved all of my kids and my college students, but find retirement to be an amazing thing. The freedom after all those years of working 2 jobs is exhiliarating! I did other things before teaching. I was a secretary, in sales, a scientist, but never worked for the CIA. |
