Diana like many have mentioned we can only do our best . Once the cord is severed and they are old enough to make whatever decisions they are on their own. I know that you are a wonderful mother, and do not ever forget that!!!
My prayers are with you and that whatever is bothering you will be resolved very soon. Please do not get depressed it will bring you down and your loved ones, but at the end they do whatever they feel they have to do.. So smile things will turn out ok.. My prayers are with you. |
I spent some time today with my daughter and we discussed briefly what was making me upset. It's not something that she wants to talk about but still it helped to clear the air a little. While I'm still not happy about all of this the shock is starting to wear off and I'm not feeling so down about it. Thanks for all of your prayers.

I'm glad you're starting to feel better. Diana...the Serenity Prayer works for this instance too.
The Serenity Prayer God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen. --Reinhold Niebuhr |
I'm so sorry Diana - I don't know how I missed this. I sure hope everything turns out for the best!!!

If you need a shoulder I'm here for you. You know I've had my moments with my own kids, so I really doubt there's anything you could tell me that would shock me or make me think any thing bad about you or yours. My prayers are with you |
Thanks for your poem, Janet and your kind words, Gayle. Tink, I really appreciate your words of experience. I know that you've gone through a lot with your kids too.

Diana you might need to have your daughter talk to mine. She was a hellion as a teenager. About 6 years ago, she turned around, she does not know why she did the things she did. I have my sweet little girl back.

Diana, I don't know what's going on, and I've never been a parent myself so I've got no advice, so I'm just here to offer (((((((((HUGS)))))))))) of support.

Thanks Michelle and Lindsey for your support. Hugs are always appreciated!!
My daughter has just been making some wrong decisions lately, and has been for some time, I found out. No matter what, though, I'm still her mother and I still love her. I'm just having a hard time believing that the decisions that she's making are in her best interest but she's 26 and an adult. The hard part is that her decisions are really affecting the rest of the family but hopefully, in time, things will get better. |
Things wil get betterl Diana.

It is difficult when children make decisions we don't agree with - but you said it, they are her decisions. It is hard when they affect the rest of the family. Things will change in time - maybe not the way we want them to change, but one thing is sure, change is constant.

My thoughts and prayers are still with your Diana.

Diana, my prayers are with you. I know how it feels to watch your daughter make terrible choices and then go deeper and deeper into them. I have shared these with you all. It was so awful.
But, I also know, as I have shared with you all too, that it is entirely possible that you will be totally surprised by how she comes through all of this. Nobody was more shocked then me when my daughter finally called me. She has become a woman I am proud to have raised. I love her husband, ad my grachildren are fabulous. She has told me that she is glad she went through those very hard times. She knows that she grew tremendously because of it. My heart is with you my dear friend. Remember, if you can, that God doesn't things on his own time, not when we want them done. Keep praying. |
God bless you, I have two sons, they are 39 and 40. The oldest was on drugs all of his life until 3 years ago and is now clean, the youngest one was diagnoised with adult onset diabetes a couple years ago, he is still doing drugs, there is nothing I can do and it breaks my heart. I know when he is using because I don't hear from him, it has been 3 months, but he owes me money, which I should never have loaned it to him.
When we first found out that he had diabetes, several days went by that I didn't hear from him, tried calling, nothing, he was suppose to come over for a visit. I thought he could be home in a diabetic coma, went to his house, his truck was there, I had a key but the dead bolts inside were locked. I beat on the doors, windows, started busting his bedroom window out and I heard him, "Mom, I can't see you now, I said, "are you using again", he said yes, I asked what, cocaine. I stay awake a night just praying for my piece of mind because there is nothing I can do to help me. So, I pray for you too. |
WOW - Donna, that's about all I can say. I've never had experiences with a child making such bad decisions, I can't imagine how hard it is. I'm really sorry you have to go through all this. I'm sorry any parent has to have so much pain and worry.
