Actually... my hubby actually spoils me! He likes to do all the cleaning (except for folding the laundry and ironing...which I don't mind doing!) Even if he cooks the dinner, I start to clean up, he tells me to go relax! I am soooo spoiled!!

Ok...I am going to duck!!!!! Don't hate me! LOL!

You read my mind. The other day I told my husband (while I was setting up his dinner in front of the TV) that I want to be born a man in my next life. Being a woman is just too darn hard most of the time.

My hubby knew before he married me that I was not the "housewife" kind of woman. He doesn't "expect" me to do anything around the house, and he helps me with everything. Both of us work very hard full-time, although I would consider his job MORE than full-time (80 hours/week). Anyway, I do all the bills and keep the checkbook balanced, but I WANT to do that. He never expects me to cook or clean. If neither of us feels like cooking, then we go out to dinner to have takeout. We both clean the house, but we each have sections that we do. I do the bathroom and bedroom and hubby does the living area and kitchen. He does his own laundry and I do my own laundry. I guess I'm very very lucky. Sometimes he jokes that it is my "job" to do the stuff around the house, but I just remind him that if that is the case, then it's the man's "job" to bring home the bacon. Since we both bring home the bacon, we both will do the "woman" things around the house, too. . ;)

Mine will help, but I have to ask him to do one thing 500 million times before he actually does it. Usually I just give up and do the crap myself.

It's alot quicker that way.

Seriously, 15 years ago I would have posted similarly to you, but now he doesn't do anything. I'm not sure where I went wrong!

Oh, and I guess I'm lucky, he doesn't expect me to do anything. He'd be happy living in a mess and never eating a meal. I just can't wallow in muck.

Sometimes I just PREFER to do most of the chores around the house. Usually when my hubby does it, it is a half a$$ job or just not done correctly. My philosophy, if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.

My husband cleans the kitchen and fills up the dishwasher after dinner, i wouldnt dream of asking him to do the laundry, i can only imagine what the clothes will look like after they done LOL
He will vacuum when he feels like it, but that aint too often

It's not that I PREFER doing most the chores, but you're right, mine does it half A$$ too! Many years ago, we separated for a very short time. When I came back the place was so dirty! I don't mean things lying around, I mean dirty. There were mouse turds everywhere including his underwear drawer. SO FREAK'N GROSS!!!!! I will get help if I ask, but why should I have to...he is not blind and can see what needs done. I am so afraid something will happen to me and my son will have to live like that.

I don't think my husband knows where the washer, dryer and sweeper are...

We have been together for 20 years, and we made a pact early on that he would do laundry and I would take care of the kitchen and cooking. Since I love to cook and HATE to do laundry it works out great! Especially since these days we hardly ever eat at home!

Does he fold, hang and put things away the same way that I would? NO! But I'm with you.. as long as it gets done I don't care. I used to go into the linen closet and rearrange everything behind him, but I gave up on that years ago. If someone knows me well enough to be in my linen closet, I figure they know me enough not to hold it against me.

Like my Grandma used to always say..."As long as it's clean and paid for..." ;)

Wish we had someone to come in and clean. I've been lobbying for it, but hubby just won't go for it. There were 3 women in the house, but one left for college a couple of weeks ago. Now there are two of us and he can't see why we should pay someone to come in. I try to pay my daughter to do it, but she'd rather lifeguard at the pool than take money from me to clean house. She helps with the cleaning, but never seems to quite finish. Always something left undone.
