My friend went home. (slumber party over :( ) I guess her hubby decided not to go home, and her sister (who lives w/ them left for some car races). Well, my friend didn't want to leave her daughter home alone. She is almost 14 and has cerebral palsy and was not a happy camper to find out she was home alone.

I tell ya - I almost feel numb right now. It's so hard to see friends around me who are not happy and trying to figure out which path in life they should be on. Trying so hard to find that peace within, if only a speck.

Life is short and I find it disturbing to think that some might go through their entire life never finding true happiness or peace within. To me it seems it might be living hell on earth. Very sad indeed, very sad.

Aww Sheryl, life sometimes is indeed unfair, I am glad that your friend has a good friend in you. :) You had some day, starting with your hair coloring , friends cancellation of horse riding and now your other friend having marital problems wow.. Btw my son's girlfriend owns two horses and she rides, one day she will take me to see them. I doubt that I will ride tho..lol I m chicken.. When you get photos post pleese lol

AngieDoogles 03-24-2007 07:26 PM

Sheryl, that sounds like such a rough night! I'm so sorry you and especially your friend Kim had to go through that. I feel so sorry for her. I think people with marital problems are some of the most unfortunate people on earth and I hate to hear that someone you care about is going through that! Perhaps with time things will get better and if not maybe she will some day be happy with where her life takes her. I just hope she is able to reach that point in her life VERY quickly! I'm glad she has you to be there for her during this difficult time. I'm sure that means the world to her. You are an amazing person to put yourself through the emotional pain of being there for her, that's such a hard road to walk! I hope you will get to see how much your friendship is helping her!

Oh thanks Gina. Normally I am a pretty up beat positive person, but to see my friends hurt really affects me. This friend, Kim. Gosh I've known her since we were 12 years old. We met in Home Economics in Jr. High school. (Do they still have Home Economics in school these days anyway??) Well, her and I know the in's and out's of each other like sisters almost more then we know ourselves, LOL.

Anyway, we've been friends through it all. Both having babies as teens, marriages, divorces, watching our kids grow into adults themselves and have babies. It's incredible really. I've helped her bury both her parents and she will be there to help bury mine, etc...etc... I do wish for her peace and happiness. If I could wrap it and give it away that would be so easy. I guess happiness isn't a gift you can give away but to only give yourself right? Each person having to allow themselves to receive their own gift?

Sheryl, you are such a good person, a good friend. I sure wish we were all able to get together and meet. I can just tell, you would be a life long friend.

That's really sweet Janet. **blushing** :o It seems easy for many of us to open our hearts here on this forum and dump our emotions, if you will. LOL I enjoy that the most here on 4wt. I feel I can open up to all of you and blab away and not be judged or frowned upon.

Ok ladies, here is my new haircolor. Sorry for the bad pic but I was up late last night so my eyes look really tired and well it's weird and hard to take a pic of yourself, LOL. (never done that before)

Anyway, atleast this gives you an idea of the color. :p

Aww, Sheryl, it's beautiful!!! You are such a lovely lady. :)

Janet 03-25-2007 09:27 AM

Sheryl!!!! You are so beautiful...I'm just not saying that to be nice either!!! Great picture, now I know who I'm chatting with.

Maybe that's what we all should do.....instead of fancy avatars....have someone take a nice head shot of us, like Sheryl's and use that. What do ya think?

Janet - actually I think that is a GREAT idea using our headshots in our avatars. If we do, I WILL be changing my pic though. LOL :D I think it's nice as you say to have the face(s) of whom we talk to! Kinda makes it more personal and stuff.

Thank you Angie and Janet for you sweet compliments but seriously I've got to figure out a way to hide crows feet, geez. Oh well oh well.

Oh Mandy thanks gf!! No, Robert's on his way home now. Wanna know something kinda funny? I'm a tad nervous too. It's like I have jitter bugs in my tummy expecting him pulling up. I just PRAY he likes it.

I did tell him I had my hair done and the color. He says, "Oohhhh I have a new girlfriend". LMAO, he's so goofy. :p

I love your hair dark!! I don't know what you looked like blonde but, (imagining in my head) I would think it looks better dark.

And as for the answer to the question on your thread!! I have very dark hair and started highlighting many many years ago...well after having it done for so many years you end up being blonde. I will tell you something...I get ALOT more compliments on my hair being dark (went back to dark with low lights about 3 yrs ago) then ever!And...that to me is MORE FUN!! Everyone can't pull off blonde hair...it was almost like you couldn't see the shape of my face...like it blended into my hair color...AND I am told I look younger!! which, I LOVE just turning 50!!

I am so thrilled! My hubby likes it. :p He kept smiling and saying "whoo-hooo, sexy Mama". So, I guess that's a thumbs up on his part. LOL :)

We've talked each other's ears off for the past few hours and now he's asleep on the couch. He is sooo exhausted from a very emotional weekend. It's nice to have him home again though. :p

Thanks blowry. That is what happened to me. I started off naturally brown and the highlights over time turned me a full head of blonde. It just wasn't working for me anymore. Indeed it was time for a change. :o
