WOW! Congrats Janet! You are doing great!! I'm so proud of you. :)

Janet 02-08-2008 02:45 PM

It's still a little depressing though and I'm trying to look ahead. I'm beginning to 'feel' smaller, ya know, but then I go and look in the mirror and I can't even tell. When you weigh as much as me..it's going to take some time. Maybe in another month or two there will be a slight difference visually..I sure hope so. Thanks everyone for the encouragement...it really helps.

lynne b 02-08-2008 02:46 PM

wow Janet I am so proud of you. you are doing so good. Keep up the good work

Forgivenmom5 02-08-2008 03:32 PM

That's great Janet!!!!! Even if you can't see it you know it's going by the scales and the feel in your clothes.:)

judy 02-14-2008 02:38 PM

Dear Janet,

I'm just reading this and am so proud of you!!! That's almost 20 pounds in 5 weeks.

WAHOO!!!

It does seem like it's going to take forever sometimes, but it won't. Hang in there and celebrate your successes. I still have my first star from 5 years ago hanging on my fridge.

Janet 02-15-2008 12:46 PM

At the WW meeting and weigh-in last night I was a expecting a weight gain and I got it! I gained a whole .2

I was so nervous on Tuesday with the ice and Ricky was driving so when I get really nervous I eat. I tried to pick good things, but slipped just a little. so .2 is not bad at all. I'll do better this week.

Tink 02-15-2008 02:02 PM

Janet, .2 could mean you drank an extra HALF glass of water before your meeting. LOL I wouldn't beat myself up over that. Even a monthly hormonal change can add an extra few pounds, so .2 is nothing to be ashamed of.

I'm just seeing this! You go girl! I wouldn't worry about that .2 lb...you are doing an awesome job.

Attachment 2503 (if you click him, he's clapping...don't know why he doesnt work otherwise)
Now, if I could just figure out a way to join your bandwagon. LOL

judy 02-15-2008 06:31 PM

Well, I only lost .4 pounds (which a good passing of wind would have taken care of), so don't worry about it. You're going to have a week or three like that.

You're doing great!

Janet 02-22-2008 04:34 AM

Had our WW meeting and weigh-in last night. I lost 2.4 lbs and a grand total of 20.6 lbs.

So far I'm doing really good. I did discuss with them last night that for some reason this week I was feeling more hungry than I did the first month. On WW you should never feel hungry. I need to make sure I'm getting all my points (which I am) and not be afraid to use the 35 extra weekly points. I don't use many of those at all. I also need to make sure I get in my protein and fiber. I thought I was, but obviously need to check it more closely like I did when I first started.

judy 02-22-2008 06:56 AM

I think that's an incredible weight loss Janet! Congratulations.

I lost 1.6 this week, making it a total of 2.4 pounds altogether. I was very happy!
It doesn't seem like a lot, but I only need to lose 10 pounds. I'm also using my 35 extra points since I can't live on 18 points/day.

I'm also finding that I'm hungry lately. I went to the produce store and bought a bag of baby carrots. At WW, I buy their snacks, which I love, but I can't add any extra points so I have to stick to veggies when I get hungry. I also eat fruit once/day because it's healthy. It's a balancing act - deciding between points and nutrition!

You're going to be very happy once you get to your goal weight and have figured out a good diet for your lifestyle.

DianaB 02-22-2008 07:00 AM

That's so good, Janet!!!!! It's really starting to add up!!!!! Way to go!!!!

Congratulations Judy!!!! I think you're doing great too! I will take any weightloss I can get..even if it's .1....LOL. As long as something is coming off. I wish I only had 10 lbs to lose. You were very smart not to let yourself get really heavy like I did. I need to lose 101 lbs, really more if I can. 20 is gone, so I just need to keep going. My very first goal is to get to 1 lb less than 200. Then I'll feel like I'm REALLY getting there. Once I get there...I'll need to lose approx. 55 more lbs. I'll do it this time if it's the last thing I do.

judy 02-22-2008 11:26 AM

If you keep losing at this rate Janet, you and I will reach our goals at about the same time!

Tink 02-22-2008 01:15 PM

You're both doing well!
Way to go Judy and janet!
I'm very happy for you.

Gina 02-22-2008 03:56 PM

You'll be 53 years young!!! Maybe you could get one to lay out in the sun with to get a great tan!!!!!

judy 02-23-2008 08:36 AM

Janet in a thong! I somehow don't think so. Not that you couldn't if you wanted to, but you must post several pictures.

I don't understand thongs. They are wedgies that people pay money for!

Janet 02-24-2008 05:26 AM

We have got to change the subject...who started this anyway...LOLOLOL

Thank you Judy, thongs are for those young, thin, hard bodies...not for me. Pictures??????? I don't understand thongs either...nothing worse than seeing someone walking and tugging at their uncomfortable underwear.....YUK!!

judy 02-24-2008 01:57 PM

Getting off of the thongs, I have a food question. Is squash a veggie or a carb or a little of both?

I bought some cubed squash, put it in a sealed container with some water and steamed it in the microwave for about 6-8 minutes. Delicious!

DianaB 02-24-2008 06:19 PM

Squash is a veggie! Was it yellow crookneck squash? Or something else? You can use yellow crookneck the same way you use zucchini. They are very good sliced about 1/4 inch, seasoned, and cooked on the grill!!! Yummy!!!!

Janet 02-25-2008 09:03 AM

I honestly don't know if I've ever had any squash....of any kind. Also hate to admit it, but I don't think I know what one looks like.

Tink 02-25-2008 10:30 AM

When Shannon and Katie were both still living here and doing laundry, Greg would occasionally find one of their thongs in the dryer... He referred to them as butt floss!
Just had to add that for Janet. ;) I wouldn't be caught dead wearing them either!

'Course what I wear the young girls call Granny panties... well heck I AM a grannY! So I don't mind dressing the part.

< hiding in corner > I DUNNO WHO COULD HAVE STARTED THIS JANET... LMAO

judy 02-26-2008 04:02 PM

Butt floss is a great name for them! Greg has a great sense of humor.

I think it was butternut squash Diana. I bought it already cut up. I'll buy whole squash next time and see how it tastes. This happened to be a really delicious one.

The produce available in NY is awful! I haven't had a good tomato here in years, and forget about peaches.

I don't think that I've ever had butternut squash. My daughter's been fixing a different kind of squash that they've all raved about. We have farmer's markets here in the spring and summertime and you can buy veggies and flowers from the gardeners. A vine ripened tomato is one of the best things!! Yummy!!!

judy 02-27-2008 05:11 PM

I love veggies! A tomato, with some salt - heaven! I love them cooked and fancied up, but either raw or steamed, so you get just the true flavor of the veggie is so delicious.

I can't wait to move top the country so I too can buy at stands.

Marilyn 02-27-2008 07:50 PM

:sidesplit: :sidesplit: :sidesplit: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: I love this group!!!!! Y'all are amazing!!!

Oh my dear sweet friend Marilyn....I am a very interesting woman for sure...LOL:D

I guess it all boils down to...not too many go around talking squash, but sex is another thing. I may not like talking about it, but I always have my ears taking in all kinds of info...LOLOL

AngieDoogles 02-28-2008 08:59 AM

Oh my! Glad to see you ladies keeping it interesting while I'm away. It's fun to come read what you've been up to.

Janet, I missed you girl! You always make me laugh. :)

judy 02-28-2008 09:43 AM

Hi Angie,

It's so good to see you here!

Love ya,

Judy

DianaB 02-28-2008 10:56 AM

Ok, back to thongs.........A few years ago we took a vacation to South Padre in southern-most Texas and we were diving down a street and I said "Oh look, someone lost their thong!!" My daughter turned all shades of red and informed me that flip-flops were no longer called thongs. That's what they were called when I grew up and I want to know who gave them permission to change their name?

Janet 02-29-2008 09:46 AM

:sidesplit: :sidesplit: Diana, you crack me up...what are they called now? I always called them thongs too, still do.

I wanted to let you all know that I'm still losing the weight. I can't believe it!!!! Of course I've got a long way to go, but at last night's WeightWatcher meeting, I lost another 2.2 lbs for a grand total of 22.8 lbs lost since January 3rd.

I am so grateful that this way of losing has come into my life. I love the meetings and the people there. I just really feel grateful today for everything, more than usual. Thank you all too, for the tremendous support you give me. I love you all very much.

Aww, Janet you are so sweet! I'm so glad I got to meet you and all of the lovely ladies here!

As for the thong question, that's what I call them too. ;)
