I wanted to see that show and didn't get to. Even though I don't want to bite the bullet....I agree with you. That was really a good post Judy.
|
I agree Judy and Janet. After all the initial shock of this craziness, the bottomline is that it's 14 children who need care. It really doesn't matter if it's 14 separate children or 14 from one mother!

Honestly, I feel sorry for this lady. I truly think she has borderline or narcissistic personality disorder. There is no cure and life is always drama for those who suffer from either of these conditions. I certainly wouldn't want a life like that. Imagine PMS all the time, only more dramatic. And always needing attention.
And those poor children. Who knows what mental and emotional problems they will face. As for the "tax money," I get far more upset about other wasteful spending than this. No matter the circumstances, I wouldn't want these children to starve. They didn't ask to be in this situation. At work today, I learned that people on TNCare (TN's access health care plan) can get gastric by-pass surgery covered. I understand if it is a medical necessity, but many times it is purely cosmetic. I can think of much more useful ways to use that $50k, especially considering the numerous needs of the families I deal with every day. Oh, and the Commissioner of the DEA recently chartered a private jet for $123,000 (in tax money) to fly to Columbia even though the agency has 106 planes in it's very own aviation division. But you rarely (if ever) see angry threads when rich CEOs and Administrators throw away tax money. Go figure. |
She is going to be on Dr. Phil today, wonder if he will REACH her?
|
I fell asleep in the middle of Dr. Phil. I do not think he will reach her. She did say that she only wanted one child, never planned for 8, and that, yes, if she had planned for 8, she would be crazy.
I don't think there is anything to reach. I have to agree with Angie. I don't know how to diagnose, but she does seem narcissistic to me. There is no change in their perspective to be expected, and they are extremely difficult to deal with. They are selfish, irresponsible, and the world begins and ends only with their own needs. They are easy to dislike and make people who are near to them angry. I do think that the children need to be taken care of. I also feel that to remove them from their mother is not the best solution for them. She does love her children, and they seem to be bright and verbal. Three of them have disabilities, and who knows about the babies yet? If we can help rehabilitate abusive people, house and feed rapists and murders in prison, then we can certainly help these children. |
