Okay, I'm tired of winter now..make it go away. It's been rainy and foggy all day long, we're suppose to get some snow this weekend..AND I NEED TO FINISH SHOPPING!!!!!

Sorry that was just a minor attack there. I'm better now. I really do need to get some shopping done before everything is completely picked over.

You gals are too kind. It looks like we will be able to save some of the trees. After driving through some of the other neighborhoods, I feel lucky. Wow, there really is some damage out there.

Now it looks like we will get 3-6 inchs of snow this weekend. It looks like my DH will be working hard at least until Christmas. I really feel for those that still don't have power.

The photos are very pretty, thanks for sharing..

I hope you all stay safe my prayers are with you. It is begining to get a little cold. We are expecting some snow maybe two inches the tops mixed with rain.

It's always good to "have that kind of moment" Janet - LOL! :p You are so funny.
I hope the weather clears for you to head out shopping. I know you've been trying to get this done for a couple weekends now.

Janet 12-13-2007 06:42 AM

Thanks Sheryl. I suppose I could go shopping during the day, but I have to go to another city about 30 minutes (maybe a little more) to shop and I'm so afraid something will happen and I won't get back in time to do the afternoon route. So, I try to do shopping on weekends, but they are not cooperating...lol

Today it is really foggy with a heavy mist, so I'm not gonna try going today. Tomorrow is suppose to be nice, so I'm thinking I might try going then...Saturday is suppose to be crappy weatherwise, but who really knows till it gets here.

Outside of feeling a little rushed, I'm anxious to buy some presents.

DianaB 12-13-2007 10:39 AM

I know how you feel. I haven't been out of town to shop yet so a couple of days ago I started ordering on-line. Several places are offering free shipping and I have coupons!!! I think that next week Glen and I are going to Wichita and stay a couple of days to work on our list!!

Janet 12-13-2007 04:11 PM

Diana, what the heck would we do without our coupons? I have a couple of coupons from Kohl's that I need to use. I just may do that here in a bit, the boys both need jeans.

The weatherman at noon said we have a winter storm watch in effect for Saturday morning starting around 7-8 A.M. Didn't say exactly how much, but did say we would need our shovels. I'm gonna take my shovel and knock him in the head if he won't quit forecasting snow!!!

Tink 12-13-2007 04:17 PM

I did most of my shopping online.
Thank God I'm done other than putting cash in cards for my 2 youngest. Since they're moving out on their own, I figure I'll give them money so they can buy what they need to set up housekeeping for themselves.

That's one of the coupons that I used, Kohls. Did you know that if you have a Kohl's credit card they send you coupons through the year? And I use them as much as I can.

We're in a winter storm watch too through Saturday. Looks like we're going to get anywhere from 3 to 7 inches. If I know Jaci she'll be hoping for 10!!!! I just wish that I didn't have so many other things that NEED to get done this weekend!!!

I do have a Kohl's charge and get the coupons quite often really. Today and tomorrow there is free shipping over $25 and if you sign up for ad alerts (I use a different email for these) you will get free shipping.

They finally are saying this morning how much they are guesstimating we'll get here..same time frame, but 3-6 inches. BUT, we are suppose to get ice and sleet sometime on Sunday.

I think I may want to move to Arizona or Texas...they usually don't get much snow and cold. Of course I would probably complain about the summer heat then...LOL Isn't there someplace that just stays in the high 60's to high 70's all year?

rivermom 12-14-2007 09:50 AM

Atleast winter is only a few months long. Before we know it Spring will be showing life again. Then we will all be sharing our pretty pics of tulips and such.

I think one thing I like about the cooler temps (winter) is that life really seems to slow down. Dinner done by 6:00, in bed by 8:30 or 9:00, and it's quiet/peaceful. During the Summer months it seems the days never end and there's nothing but chores and chaos.

We're suppose to get 5-8 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow. I went to the store today so I'm all stocked up but we have places to go so we won't be staying home.

Arizona sounds really good right now!!! Let me know when you get there and I'll come and join you. Maybe we could finally get our Christmas shopping done!!!!

Tink 12-14-2007 03:19 PM

It's supposed to be dry here for the next week why don't you all just come visit me?
I'd love to have some like minded adults to talk to for a change. LOL

Wish that I lived closer I'd take you up on that offer!!!! You're so sweet, Tink!!!! Thanks anyway!!!!:)

Janet 12-14-2007 05:57 PM

I sure would like to Tink.

We are under a winter storm warning and are expected to get 7-12 inches. Whether we do or not remains to be seen. We are to get 1-3 inches sometime in the morning and then it's suppose to stop for a couple of hours and then hit us really hard with wind gusting 30-40 miles per hour. Out here in the country....that ought to be fun....NOT!!!!!!!

So it looks like we're stuck here the whole freak'n weekend...bah humbug!!!!
