Pray for Zach
We have some good friends that are pastors that just moved to Wyoming a few months ago. They have two sons, the oldest, Zach, is about 11 or 12. He's always had a very sensitive stomach with an easy gag reflex. The move has been really hard on him and he hasn't made a lot of new friends.
In the last few months the situation with Zach has gotten really bad. Sitting down to meals has become really fustrating for his parents. Some days he'll eat a little, some days hardly anything at all. He's lost a lot of weight and is down to 57 lbs., 15 lbs. below where he should be. If he looses any more weight the doctors are going to have to put him in the hospital. He's also, become very phobic and won't leave his mother's side. His parents are really worried and not sure what to do. I know that we have some really wonderful people who pray on here and that's what I'm asking for, your prayers. Please lift Zach and his family up in your prayers. Thanks so very much. |
Thats so sad, i hope the situation will soon improve for Zach, and he will start getting better! My thoughts, and prayers go out to him, and hes family.
I'm so sorry to hear about this situation Diana. I will definitely keep him and his family in my thoughts and prayers.
I just said a prayer for Zach and his family. How sad!
Please keep us posted on your friends. I will keep them in my prayers.
Thanks so much. I'll keep you posted on how he's doing.
Awww - poor Zach. That's such a tough age to begin with. Prayers are going his way.
Zach and his family are in my prayers .
So very sad!!!! Zack and his family will definitely be in my prayers.
I got a call on our church prayer-chain and Zach has been put in the hospital in Denver. He'll have to see a therapist every day for 4 weeks and will be put on anxiety medicine. His parents are really upset and this is going to be really inconvient with them living out of town. Please remember them in your prayers again. Thanks so much.
sorry your friends are going through such a difficult time--it is always so much harder when a child is involved.
I'm so sorry to hear that the situation hasn't improved Diana. He is still in my thoughts and prayers.
At least he's getting what he may need. Poor little thing at such a tender age.
When it comes to children, my heart just aches for them. Poor Zach. I hope through therapy they can resolve whatever conflict is going on inside him. Bless his heart, I just want to put my arms around him. Zach and his family will be in my daily prayers.
My prayers are with Zach and his family too.
I hope he's able to be helped very soon. |
My husband talked to Zach's grandmother, our pastor's wife, and Zach has gotten so weak that he has to use one hand to make his leg move in order to walk. I know that there's a place a person can get to in losing weight where you don't lose fat but muscle. I think that's Zach's problem. He's in the hospital and his mother is staying in the Ronald McDonald house. Please continue to pray for Zach and his family.
Diana, at least he is getting treatment now. That's better than before at least. I'm so sorry that this has turned into such a scary situation for him and his family. I will continue to keep them in my prayers.
Yesterday Zach had a good day and even asked for some chicken to eat so he and his family went out and ate but today has been really rough. He had a tooth break and he's really upset and things aren't going well and he's crying alot. Please continue to pray for them. His parents are just at their wits end.
Oh my, he's just so fragile. I want to reach out and hold him and tell him it will be okay.
I'm sending prayers, Judy |
I got another prayer chain call today on Zach. He's been put back in the hospital (he was in another place near the hospital for counseling) and might be facing surgery. I don't know what the surgery is for and I haven't heard anything more. I'm sure that his parents are extremely upset over everything that's happening. Please continue your prayers for this situation.
Aww, I'm so sorry Diana. Poor kid... :(
So sorry Diana. Maybe the surgery will help and zach and his family can get some relief.
I guess that the surgery was for a severe infection, but he still has the eating problem. I'll know more tomorrow when I talk to Zach's grandma.
I hope you find out good news tomorrow Diana!
Zach had a lump on his hip that was filled with infection. That's why he was having trouble walking. The doctors went in and scraped out the infection. It had spread up his side and down his leg. The family is hoping that he'll get out of the hospital today but they were worried that they may have to scrape out the infection again. He'll have to return to the eating disorder place when he gets out.
Zach is such a sweet and well behaved child. I really hate to see him go through all of this. His little brother is in town to stay with his grandparents for a while. It has been so hard on everyone. |
How scary.
I really feel for the boy and his family. |
We got a call this afternoon on Zach and I guess that he's having a really bad day today. His Grandmother was the one who called and she was having a hard time getting the message out. The whole family is really upset. What do you do with a 12 year old boy who won't eat and cries and cries?

Dear Diana,
How heartbreaking. He's hospitalized and I would hope he's on medication for depression, and seeing a therapist. I had my cousin's stepdaughter stay over here last night. She was hospitalized for anorexia at 16 - she weighed 69 pounds! She's fine now - it's like a miracle. She 's 20 now, but had been okay for a few years. I feel so bad for Zach and his family. He's so depressed. Prayers are going out for him. Judy |
