Light a candle for Debbie

As Angie said, Debbie is going for chemo today. This is a rough time for her and the family, so I lit a candle for them.

It's a wonderful site:

That's really cool! I lit a candle for Debbie too!

Mandy 10-09-2007 11:12 AM

Thanks Judy, i have lit two in my home for Debbie, and will light a vertual one.

2tiredmom 10-09-2007 02:08 PM

Great site, I lit a candle also.

AngieDoogles 10-09-2007 03:26 PM

Thanks so much Judy! You are such a sweetheart. It really means a lot to me (and I'm sure it will for Mom too when she sees this).

Thank you all!!

Gina 10-09-2007 03:37 PM

Judy that is a wonderful site and I lit a candle for Debbie to....

AngieDoogles 10-09-2007 03:41 PM

Wow, I didn't realize you could read all of the messages on there! That really is such a sweet thing. I'm touched by all of your messages. Group hug! :ghug:

Chandra Amaya 10-12-2007 01:33 PM

I just lit one bringing the total to 15. They burn out after 48 hours but that is really a beautiful thing. Thank you Judy.

Janet 10-13-2007 03:07 AM

Okay ladies, need to get back to the candle site. I just relit mine. Great idea Judy, now if we can just keep them lit!

Mandy 10-13-2007 04:49 AM

Thanks for the reminder Janet - will do :)

Forgivenmom5 10-13-2007 02:33 PM

Thanks so much ladies. The candles are beautiful. This treatment was harder than I thought so I haven't been on here but these candles really mean a lot. Thank you so much.

Love you all

judy 10-13-2007 04:44 PM

Thanks Janet.

I'm glad they're helping you Debbie.

Marilyn 10-13-2007 05:15 PM

Just lit a candle, too. This is a really nice idea. Debbi, hope you find the encouragement that you need to get through this!!! & :40:

AngieDoogles 10-14-2007 08:43 AM

I just wanted to let you ladies know that you have NO idea how much this meant to Mom! I was with her when she found out about the site yesterday and, even though she felt terrible, she asked me to bring her the laptop so that she could see it and read the messages. It really REALLY brightened her day. She was sad that she didn't see it earlier when there were over 60 candles, but the ones she saw meant so much to her! Thank you!

Mandy 10-14-2007 10:52 AM

Just lit a new candle. Come on girls... lets keep this going :)

Janet 10-18-2007 06:41 AM

Just re-lit my candle for Debbie. Someothers need re-lit also.

Forgivenmom5 10-20-2007 08:50 PM

Thanks so much ladies. I am doing pretty well right now. Levels are still ok and I am over all the side effects from the treatment. I have levels checked again Tuesday and the next chemo is Oct. 30.

katepoet 10-20-2007 09:32 PM

My Brasilian friends' baby boy is due that day! I hope he comes on time just to give you something to celebrate. His name is Helvinho. (Like Little Elvis!)

judy 10-21-2007 08:18 AM

It's so good to hear that you're having good days, Debbie! I'm going to light a new candle.

You're in my prayers,

Judy

judy 10-21-2007 08:23 AM

Just a reminder to light your candles.

Thanks, Debbie, for inspiring the candle lighting. I have been lighting them for other friends who are going through hard times right now. It lets me feel, each day, as if I am doing something, no matter how small, to lift their spirits and to help.

Mandy 10-23-2007 01:40 AM

*Bumping* this thread - keep lighting a candle ladies. :)

rivermom 10-23-2007 04:12 AM

The candle is lit - Hoping your feel good days continue. (I wish we had a candle emoticon)

I think your son is a very special person, Janet. Tell him I really appreciate his thoughtfulness.

Thanks Diana!!

That reminds me...Mom now has a "prayer pager" and she gets a notice anytime someone prays for her and then calls the number. It's a very neat thing that her church did for her! Very uplifting!

rivermom 10-30-2007 01:46 PM

WOW - a prayer pager, how wonderful!! It's great for your Mom to realize how many people are thinking of her. What a very special idea the church has done!!

I'm gonna get up and go light my candle right now.

DianaB 10-30-2007 04:43 PM

That is a really neat idea! A prayer pager!!!! Cool! It would really be beeping all day long if you included our prayers!!!! Plus I have people at church praying for her too!!!

katepoet 10-30-2007 06:18 PM

In my old town, if anyone needed a prayer, I told the clerk at the window in city hall where we paid our taxes and fees for things like the dog's tags. She told the whole building as the entire city hall was one grand prayer group! People can be so generous. It's nice to hear you are surrounded by such loving folks.
