Update from Mom
 

Mom wanted to me to let everyone know that she's doing alright. The surgery was successful. She is tired, sore, and nauseous, but in good spirits. Her surgeon is very pleased with her progress and says the chemo was very effective. He says she'll still need radiation, but it's likely that she won't be needing any more chemo. We are all very relieved.

Wonderful! That is such good news. Please send your Mom my love.

Big Sigh!!!! It's so good to hear that things have gone well. I was praying for good news!! I was just about to call and check with you on how your Mom was doing. Thanks so much for letting us know.

On the candle thread, Chandra gave an update on Debbie today.

Thanks everyone. I am doing well! I am still too sore and weak to stay on here long but I wanted everyone to know I am doing OK. I love you all and truly appreciate your love and concern. Soon as I gain a little more strength and can sit longer without pain I will be back.

Your courage is so inspiring. You've gone from the diagnosis, through the treatments, and now the surgery is done! Hallelujah!

Debbie, it's so good to hear from you!! You just rest and get yourself all healed up!!! That's all that we want for you right now!! I'm still praying for the soreness and pain to go away. Thanks for staying in touch!!!

Mom has had some trouble tonight. Some of the stitches around her drainage tubes are coming loose. she paged the doctor on call and he told her just to tape them up for the night and to come in the office to have it restitched in the morning. We are hoping that her doctor will go ahead and take the tubes out since they are to come out Thursday morning anyway. She can use all your thoughts tonight. She isn't sleeping in her bed tonight because we think that may have been how they are coming loose. It is hard to keep them from pulling while she lays down so she is sleeping in a recliner.

I'm sorry that she is having troubles again. I will say a prayer for her and keep her lifted up. I hope this all passes soon...I know this has been a rough ride for everyone :(

Traci, please tell Debbie she is still in my prayers. I hope she's not too uncomfortable. Let us know soon what the Dr. decided to do.

Mom says the tape is working and helping to keep the tube in place. We're just hoping it stays until Thursday when she has her follow-up appointment with the surgeon.

Good News!
 

Mom's surgeon just called to say that her pathology reports came back. There was no cancer in the lymph nodes and they got everything from the breast! We are SO happy!!!! You should see me bouncing around...lol

She's still having problems with the tubes, but those will come out tomorrow so that's good.

Anyway, just thought I'd share the good news.
