Duggar #18
I just saw here the Duggars are pregnant with #18. I'm speechless!
|
I think it's wrong. Not horrible, but what the heck are they trying to prove except that they have sex a million times a second. And they say dogs should be neutered!
I guess that wasn't very nice of me...but geez! |
They seem like very nice people and the children appear to be well behaved. He's a realtor I think and they are not on welfare.
|
Oh I know, they are very above board and making it on their own. The bottom line is I just don't understand and that's okay. I, personally would be embarassed to have that many. I try not to worry about what people think, but I would be afraid 'rabbits' would pop into mind...LOL
|
I would be stark raving mad if I had that many kids. They must be on call 24/7 with all those kids but they seem to love it. Fortunately for the world, most people don't.
|
My aunt and uncle had 16 kids, but we're Irish:D
|
I forgot that my 'good' sister-in-law is the youngest of 12.
|
There's a girl in my town that has 7 & she's only 30. I think it's insane, but she plans to have as many as often as she can until she can't anymore. She homeschools them & makes their clothes. They are very well behaved.
There was also a family in my town that had 21 children & one died. When I was in the seventh grade there was one kid from their family in every grade & one grade had twins. |
I understand that they are supporting the kids with out government assistance, But, I don't get it? Why?
As a population we are already draining the world of its resources. |
After last week's negative results, I'm still feeling a little sorry for myself. I don't understand why they are blessed with 18 children, and other people like myself are unable to have even 1.
|
Dobie what I don't understand is the people that are blessed with children and then abuse and mistreat them when you would love one and give it a good home. I guess we just have to remember God has a special plan.
|
Dobie,
You will hold a baby in your arms and raise it and be a wonderful Mom. God has a reason for this for you. I know that you are suffering though and I wish there was a way to change it for you! |
My .02 about the Duggars is very judgemental, but I think they are whacked out!
I feel bad that I'm judging these people, but it is what it is. |
I've watched the tv specials, and it's obvious that the kids are well taken care of and seem happy - I just wonder if they get the individual attention that kids needs.

The Duggars have worked out a system where the older children help out with the younger chldren. It would certainly help with the parents stress level. The children seem to be very well behaved. I think that it's great that they are taking care of their family without any financial help. |

 lol

I have issues with it all! There is no way that she can have true one on one with each child. I don't doubt that she loves them all but let's be real here... 18 kids!! They said they will have as many as the Lord will allow?? I personally believe that God gave us a brain to think with to know when to stop... enough is enough. With so much publicity I have to wonder if they are getting donations on the side...
|
I can't begin to understand anyone wanting to have 18 kids; much less take good care of that many! But as long as they're not asking me to support or babysit for them, hey, different strokes for different folks!
|
I'm a little judgemental about this family too. I guess I don't really agree with the older kids having to take care of the younger ones. It's nice to help out your parents a little, but kids still need to be kids. It also seems like the kids aren't really out there in the real world. From the shows I've seen on them there's no real interaction with other kids, they don't seem to have other friends other than their siblings. They just seem pretty sheltered to me.
|
My grandparents have 18 kids 15 living today. She had two sets of twins. I always wondered did they all get one on one which children so badly need. My mom sisters say yes and brag about how my grandma would never let them leave the house without looking nice. My mother is the baby of them all at 43 and she told me that her sister really raise her who was a couple years older. It really affects a child's life, because when my mom said it she seemed kind of mad about it.

I've taught classes of about 20 kids, and couldn't give them all what they needed.
Of course, it wasn't a constant thing, like a family situation, where you might have more time for each. I did rely on the brighter ones to help the average students. The slower kids got more time, but not enough. Not only that, but the squeaky wheel gets the grease. If some of their children are developing well, and have no big issues, they won't get as much attention as those with difficulties. |
