Sad Day

I really didn't think this day would come. We had 2 male Biewers come into our rescue this weekend.

Marilyn 11-08-2008 09:01 PM

Biewers!!!! Oh my goodness. Didn't realize there were that many around!!! What kind of condition are they in???

DianaB 11-08-2008 09:32 PM

I would love to have a biewer!!! But I really want a female. So what's the story on them?

goofywife 11-09-2008 05:54 AM

We got them from a puppy mill. They are both about 2 years old. They need to get cleaned up, to the vet, and neutered. I will post pictures as soon as I get them. Both of them are adorable and friendly (which is rare coming from a mill).

That is so sad Michelle. I just can't believe the Biewers are there already.

judy 11-09-2008 06:13 AM

How sad. I want legislation against puppy mills NOW!!!

Poor fella's.

Actually, happy fella's now!!! Thank God they were saved from a horrible life in the mills. I so admire you and the work you are doing for these little wee ones.

Gina 11-09-2008 05:50 PM

Aww they are cute and you are a wonderful person.. God Bless You!

Dobie 11-10-2008 09:04 AM

I haven't heard of Biewer before - is it a type of Yorkie?

Janet 11-10-2008 09:10 AM

I honestly don't think I could do what you're doing Michelle. I would want to bring them all home and know that I couldn't. I really admire that you can...they need you.

goofywife 11-10-2008 10:37 AM

Janet, I have to tell you that we have assembled some great people for our team. We now have about 18 people in our rescue. These ladies are all amazing.

We have seen some really bad stuff and some really great things. It is so hard, but so great when they finally go to thier forever home. Most of them do not know any words, or what grass is, never mind the whole potty thing. But all of the foster Mom's work with them and teach them to live in a home with people. Everyone has a good cry when someone goes home, but they are tears of joy.

Here is a picture of Zeus. He will have to have surgery on his foot. He has something stuck and infected. He had kennel cough and ear mites.

Here is Mocha, I couldn't resist he is just stinkin adorable. We all laughed at Kelly for getting him because he looked like he got stuck in a closet with a pair of sissors when she picked him up. The groomer fixed it as best she could.

Tiramisu 11-11-2008 09:30 AM

OK - Zeus wants to come live with me.

DianaB 11-11-2008 10:56 AM

They are both really cute! Mocha doesn't look like a Biewer in your pictures and he looks really small.

Dobie 11-11-2008 02:15 PM

Still wondering what a Biewer is?

goofywife 11-11-2008 05:01 PM

Here is a link to one of the biewer clubs. Some say Biewer yorkie some say its a breed of its own. Right now it is not recognized in the US and the registry is in Germany.

Sorry, I should have explained myself better. Mocha is a Yorkie, he was just so cute I could not resist putting his picture up. I am working on getting the pictures of Talan (the other Biewer).

Dobie, Our Admin has another forum, www.biewertalk.com. I'm a member there but have not been there in a while. I think it's still up.

Oh, how can anyone neglect a dog like that? I bet you see some very sad situations. I am so thankful for people like you.

They are both adorable! I hope they find the BEST forever homes!
