It's Cold Outside!!!!!
It was in the 80's today and a front blew in around 5:30 this evening. Right now at 10:49 p.m., it's 36 but feels like 26!!!! BRRRRRRRRRRRRR....
My truck is in the shop, so have a rental which I need to return in the morning with a full gas tank, so will have to gas up in the cold!!! Not looking forward to it!!!! It's that humid, damp kind of cold. Yuck!! |
LOLOL..Marilyn...I'm so sorry that I can't feel sorry for your cold weather....I have to fill up while it's in the teens...not fun.
|
Since you had temperatures in the 80's I'm having trouble feeling too awful sorry for you too. Sorry Marilyn!!!!!
|
I know, I wouldn't feel sorry for us either if I were you all!!! We did have ice this morning, but only on bridges and overpasses. The car was covered with ice and so were trees. I was 29 at my house, but the sun came out by 9:00AM and it was all melting by 10:00. So, we can't complain at all, except my closet is packed because I have not been able to put away all my summer clothes, gotta have 'em for those 80 temp days!!! Makes for a schizophrenic wardrobe!

I would love to have 75 degree's year round!! |
Come on now, you gotta admit that a sudden shift like that is not good. You're all warm and content and then the temps drop in a matter of 2 or 3 hours to being really cold. This morning it's 28 and feels like 21. Come on ladies, that's cold!!!! And we have so little time to adjust. It's like jumping from the sauna to rolling in snow or something. Our blood is thin, I think.
I know what you mean about schizophrenic wardrobe. We're the same way around here. Short sleeves, capris & flip-flops one day to long pants, trouser socks, sweaters and coats the next. Sheesh!!!! If we could just stay inside, but this is my traveling week. Corpus Christi on Tuesday, Bay City & Matagorda yesterday. Then there are evening meetings. Just want to stay inside and snuggle. I have to admit though, that it does warm up in the afternoons. The high today is supposed to be 64. Okay, I'll quit complaining. Wouldn't want to be carrying things uphill in ice. That would be bad!!! |

Gayle the others may not be sympathetic, but you and I can comiserate over this because we understand. It's that we're so accustomed to being warm and this sudden shift is dramatic for us. |
Very cold in pa today 4 degrees outside, and i'm going out to get my samples yuk!!!!!
|
LMAOOO Poor Marilyn.. You want us girls to feel bad for you!!! NOT!!! j/king of course
It is so cold here in the East I would like to have your weather anyday..wanna switch?? lol |
Got up this morning to -3 degrees....so cold. The bus never did get warm on the inside so me and the kids about froze. Looking forward to the weekend because temps are suppose to be near 50.....YAY
|
Okay, Okay, guess I can feel sorry for you. -3 is way tooo cold for me. Maybe this is why some of my ancestors moved from Switzerland to Kansas and ended up in Texas. It's 70 deg here on the coast right now, and 72 deg at my house. Really nice today.
|
You all probably think I am a WUSS! It was 28 last night, the high today is 40.
Had new central heat installed and it has been running all day and can't get above 65 inside. We have that damp cold, have a sweats and winter house coat and still freezing. |

That said, your NEW central heat should be able to heat your home above 65 - I think you should have it checked out!!! |
We have an apartment behind our house and it gets so hot in there that the tenent has to switch to a/c. I called two weeks ago to get that checked out but the guy that installed it is too busy. I paid $4200 this summer for the new heat and air, with the unltra violet lights installed to kill mold, we have been sick ever since then. My nose runs constantly is so raw inside, we are coughing, sneezing. It is suppose to get in the 70's Sat. hopefully he will find the time to check us out. As you might recall, THE DH is in charge.

Turn up the thermostat!!! Myself, I prefer it at 70 to 72 degrees... :) |
I don't understand why your central heat isn't warming up better than that, Donna. You probably need to have it looked at. Can you feel the heat coming out of the vents? My uncle had wires turned around on the heat and airconditioning. My aunt complained all winter about how cold it was in the house but nobody realized what was wrong until she turned the airconditioning on and we all about melted. I happened to be there and I've never had such a miserable night!!!
Janet, That's awful cold!!! I'm sure that you and the kids were all miserable on the bus. I know that I would have been. We're suppose to get a lot warmer for the weekend and I'll try to send some your way!! |
Looks like it's gonna warm up here too!!! This weekend in the high 40's and then next Tuesday they are forecasting near 60.....
Come on Spring |
