daylight savings time stinks !!!!
I want my hour back !!!!
Micah's nap time is all screwed up,,, took a nap at 4:00 yesterday had to wake him up a 6pm and couldn't get him back to bed until 10 pm, had to wake him up at 6 am, late for work, cause when he peed on the potty, the little cup wasn't up... the day is starting off just right for a sucky monday !!!!! |
I LOVE daylight savings time. I takes me a few days to get my sleep wake cycle straightened out. But I just plan for it cuz it's gonna happen twice a year! :D
I am so happy to have the extra hour of daylight when I get off work!! WHOO! HOOO! |
I hate it. It's a pretty new concept for us Hoosiers & it's just plain annoying. I go to bed at 9-9:30 & during the summer it's still daylight until 10 at least. Plus it was just starting to get light in the morning & now it's dark again.

We used to have the time change many many years ago in Indiana, but for some reason they stopped. Now they are doing it again. I don't like the first couple of days....I'm always so tired, but after that I love it. The darkness of a morning isn't too awful bad, but I really love the extra light of an evening in the summertime. Weird going to bed sometimes when it's still light, but I have shades that make the room almost black...so it's okay.

We don't have daylight savings here. I love not having to remember things like that, but it's hard to make plans with friends who live in other provinces!

I guess i have to get use to it Janet, i do like the extra daylight to play with Micah outside. i just remebered i have to change my batteries in my smoke detectors... |
That's a good idea Haley. We change the batteries on ours twice a year. New Years Day and July 4th. Just something we've always done.

I like the time change! The daylight in the afternoons is worth the adjustment for me. But then again I don't have any children that need to adjust. Thank goodness kids are adaptable:)
|
I love it !!! A great sign that summer is coming!! yahooo!!
Sorry Haley, Micah will adjust in a few to the time change.. |

You'll get him there Haley....you're a good mom. It just takes time. I am still a little sleepy today, but in another day or two, I'll be back to normal....LOL....if that's possible...LOL.

Sorry things are so hectic Haley! Micah will get his sleep hours straightened out.
I hope the job hunt goes well. I love the extra light at night. It means summer to me. I do think the whole concept is silly though. I believe it was started so that school children would not have to walk to school on dark mornings in winter. I remember Nixon involved in that. I have also been sleeping about 12 to 15 hours since the clock was changed! I'm so glad I know why now. I was really beginning to get worried! |

But for Micah he will adjust, hopefully soon, he's killing me at night, 9pm was my bedtime too :( |
I hate the time change in the spring. It's so hard to lose an hour especially when it's sleep!! I remember the days when I had little kids that had to get used to a new schedule. I hated it too, Haley!!
I DO like having the sunlight longer in the evening. Personally, I wish that they'd just put us on DST and just leave it that way!!! |
Me too Diana, i think its harder on me than Micah, i need that extra hour... but i can't wait till it warms up.. i'll be outside all the time with Micah, with his Birthday money were going to get him a swingset for the yard.

Here's an article about the history of daylight savings time. It began as an energy saving thing.

i'm still not use to it, i been late for work the last two days, i think i'm just drained i have no energy... Micah's still going to bed around 10pm, the kid is killing me. i can't seem to get him back to his 9pm time, i got 3 days this weekend to work on him so we will see what happens, maybe i can get caught up on my sleep this weekend also...

interesting article Judy.;)

Do you have shades you can pull down so it will be darker in your house until he can get used to it? Maybe he just needs it to be a little darker for a little while.
