Have you won?

A customer who I've known since he was a little kid came in today to pay off his car and boat. He had taken his wife to a casino for her birthday and between them they won $8500!

I've never been in a casino and have rarely played the lottery... so I have no clue what it's really like to win any amount of cash.
Has anyone else here won?

Lissa 12-11-2006 05:08 PM

It's still not legal for me to gamble, but I know I'm not setting foot into a casino when I do turn 21. I'm very competitive and will keep going if there's still a chance to win. I'd gamble all my money away!! :p

I never won more than 200.00. I'm not a big gambler but when I do, I don't know when to stop so I just prefer not to

I have NEVER won any amount of money... I don't like casinos because they just eat up my cash! I never go in with more than $40, and when that's gone I leave. If I won something, I would probably go home with it instead of playing more!

i won $260.00 on my first trip to wendover on my honeymoon it was the first time i ever gambled but that was the most i ever won

I have played the lottery and gone to a casino twice, but never won anything. I only took a certain amount so when that was gone...so was I.

I have never one anything ever...but I joined this other forum and signed up for the Holiday Giveaway and just won it!!!! They are suppose to put it in the mail yesterday or today so I will be receiving it pretty soon hopefully. I just couldn't believe it. I'm thinking it will be mostly items for the babies.

Although I'm very thankful to win this giveaway..I wish my first time winning could have been a million dollar lottery!!!! But I am very happy anyway. I'll let you know what was in the giveaway when it arrives.

I'm too big of a chicken to gamble! I'm just too scared to even try it. My husband did go to Philadelphia, Mississippi with some friends one weekend to gamble. I told him he could only take $100. He came home with $600.00! So I was happy, but I am still very reluctant to go to a casino myself.

Yes I have actually won some money at gambling. There are alot of casinos around here and its about the only thing to do so we go to the casinos often but we set our limits. One night we took $60 dollars with us and came home with $3,050. So that was a really good night. There have been several nights that we have came home with 1k. And also several nights that we have came home with 5 or 6 hundred. So I guess we have been pretty lucky.

Also my hubby used to play online poker alot and in December of 04 he won $13,000. I was sooooooo excited because we were in the middle of closing on our house. So as soon as we got that money we went shopping for new furniture and things for our new house!

It is so much fun, Rebecca. I was very apprehensive about going and losing money...but I was advised to look at it this way....About once a month we will go out to eat and spend $100 maybe a little more. Basically we "lost" the money to food, when we had food at home. So I looked at it from an entertainment point of view. Only take with you what you would normally spend on a weekend out. Once it's gone...you're done. Hopefully you'd win some.

The most I've ever won in a casino was $250. Other than that, I've left money behind. I'm not a big gambler...I've been to LA once and Vegas once.

That's true. And I would only go to a place that had free drinks and free food and a free hotel room. Then I would take the money we would have normally spent on food and drinks and going out with friends if we had stayed at home. I guess then I would not really feel like we lost anything.

Janet 12-19-2006 03:18 PM

EXACTLY!! I never went because I felt guilty "wasting" the money (if I lost), but what's the difference if you lose it gambling or lose it on some other kind of entertainment? You have a good time no matter how you spend it and that's how I looked at it.
