ok stupid question

what are "spiders"? It seems there are always "spiders" viewing the forum. Is that how we get all the "new members" who aren't really there?

I've never clicked on that before. I think that's how we always seem to get ads that are close to what the topic is about.

I didn't know you could click on that and see spiders. It also shows you what everyone on the forum is doing. Wow.

I think "spiders" are just the search engine's way of getting their information. For example, if someone searches google for "woman forum" they are able to see this site because a spider has been here and collected the information and added it to the search engine's database. It probably does that for each new thread. Test it out. Copy a sentence completely, put it in quotes and then search google and it will come up with the exact page you took the quote from.
