Job Interviews
 

My university runs a radio station KTSW-FM 89.9. Their Website. I got an email the other day about them accepting applications for the Summer and Fall, so I thought, 'why not?' and applied. When I went by there was a huge stack of applications so I wasn't expecting much, it was a whim anyways.

The next day I got calls about the two positions I applied for to set up interviews with the prospective directors. I applied for News Reporter and DJ. I ended up missing both calls because I was in class but I called them back about an hour later. When I called about the Reporter one I asked for Christina, the girl in charge, and she immediately asked if I was Melissa. So I'm guessing there weren't so many applicants for that job, which is good for me.

So yes, I've got interviews tomorrow for the positions. I'm not expecting too terribly much to come out of this, I did apply on a whim, but it would be awesome if I did get a position with them. If I do I won't be starting til the August, when the Fall Semester starts.

That's great Melissa!!! You're batting 100% at the moment. It might not hurt to apply for president of a company!!! Just joking!!!! I hope that you're able to get the job that that you think will be the best for you. They both sound like they would be very interesting jobs to have. Good luck!!

Good luck Lissa!!!! It's really good that she knew your name..shows you really have a chance if you were on her mind that much.

Well, the News Reporter one went well, she said I should hear from her by next Friday so that's promising. My DJ interview is at 4 so I've got a bit of time before that one. This first interview was for a more serious position, now I gotta sell myself as fun and entertaining.

The girl did like that I was early, apparently she's used to people being late, so I made a good first impression, just don't know if I sold myself well for that one and it's the one I want more than the other.

I haven't heard from the Radio Station yet, News girl said she'd get in touch with me by Friday and DJ guy said he'd send out a mass email with new-hire names on it on dead day which is April 30th.

Didn't do too well on the DJ interview, so pretty much all bets are off on that one, but there's still the slightest hope that I got the News position. So yeah *keeping fingers crossed*
