Dad Update

I just wanted to thank all of you who replied to me about my dad. He went though surgery just fine. The 3 hour ride home 3 days later was long.
It has been a week and he is getting stronger. I get to take him back to his surgeon tomorrow. 3 hour road trip. Hope he does ok. He isn't walking and
can't keep his balance very well. No showers yet. SO I have been giving him sponge baths. What a joy. LOL. He may get his staples out tomorrow.
He sleeps alot and when he's not sleeping he worries about things.
Thanks again everyone.

It's nice that he has you Linda. Just keep reasuring him he has nothing to worry about. He probably just doesn't want to be a burden to you. I know most parents worry about having their children take care of them, and also the things they've accumulated throughout the years, worry about having to give everything up. It's so sad for them.

I'm glad he came through the surgery well and hope he recovers very soon.
My prayers are with you both.

It sounds like a lot for you. Hang in there. You're being a wonderful daughter.

I know that it's hard having to care for your Dad, but try to enjoy some of it. My Dad passed away a year ago and he had mental problems and was extremely difficult, but I wish that I had another day of dealing with him. There's so many things that I wish I could have done differently.
