errrrr

OK, I am not normally one for whining but, was up late last night with all the trouble caused by the rain!

Rain, rain, rain. It just keeps coming. Last night we received another 5 inches of rain. Lighting hit one of our parking lot poles and took out all of our outdoor parking lot lighting and alarm system. I spent hours last night and most of the day with the electricians and alarm people.

One of the dams here in town has failed. Flooding is all over the place. We have mosquito's the size of dragon flies.

I think I will be spending the summer inside.

OK, I am done whining. While, I am inside, I have been working on an overhaul of my katybows web site. It is very close to being released. I have a couple more pages to finish and some back end database stuff left to do.

Since, they are expecting more rain, it looks like I will have plenty of time to work on it.

Michelle, how are you doing? Has the rain stopped? You know that we've had a lot of rain, so much that we're even sick of looking at water!!!!!

Sorry, I haven't been on.

Today has been the first day in a while that we have not had any rain.

I live in a community that has a lake (detention pond) that keeps us out of the flood plain. It has been collapsing, Orginally the city said that it was the home owners associations responsibility to fix.

I have been working with the Mayor and City to help us. The Mayor came out today to meet with everyone.

I generally like lots of rain, but I am getting a little tired of it. Are you guys ok? We are having a lot of problems here.

We're doing fine. My husband had to replant almost everything because it washed out. And we've been picking stuff that washed out of the shop from a big drift over by the river. We lost a lot of stuff from our shop, but it could have been worse. There's a lot of people who lost their homes.

I saw your pictures. Is your damage caused by run-off or did you have a river or creek wash in your lake? It looks really bad and I hope that you're able to repair it easily. Did it affect your property too?

Aren't you glad that the rain has finally cleared out? I know that soon we'll be complaining that the crops need it!!!

Dear EDiana and Mchelle,

I feel so bad for you - floods are so destructive.

Michelle - your Mayor wears capris? I love that.

Sending you hugs,

Judy

I am so sorry about every thing you lost. We had just replaced our retaining wall in the back yard. We put huge drains in every where. Our damage was all from run off. We are in the flood plain, right by the river, so everything runs towards us. Yes, I so glad the rain has stopped!!!

She is pretty cool. She was just sworn in about a month ago. We have always been a developer run town. She won despite the odds!
