Need Some Help Here!!!

Would anyone know how many WW points are for a South Beach Diet 100 Calorie Peanut Butter/Chocolate Chip snack bar? It's not in my book...so how would I figure this?

Janet, i'm really of no help here, i wish i could tell you. Isnt there a site you can check up on?

katepoet 10-24-2007 11:16 AM

http://www.3fatchicks.com/

That is the site to check about diets, equipment - anything to do with weight loss. You can ask questions of other dieters using the same diet, read reviews of all sorts of diet related stuff, and enjoy it!

The general rule of thumb for WW points is that there are typically 1 point for every 50 calories.

Now, this can change if there is a lot of fat grams in the food (this will increase points by 1 or 2) or lots of fiber grams, this will typically reduce points by 1.

For example, a 100 calorie bag of low fat popcorn with 2 gms of fat and 4 gms of fiber calculates out to one WW point. Due to the high fiber content the WW points are less than 1 point for each 50 calories.

However, if that popcorn had 100 calories, 9 gms of fat and 1 gm of fiber, I think it would be 3 WW points.

So, my best guess is that a 100 calorie bar would be 2 WW points.

Janet, I agree with gja1000's calculations. WW gives you a paper slide calcualtor for determining the points in non-WW items. What gja1000 is saying is consistent with that calculator.

Enjoy your treat!!!!

Can I get a slide calculator without joining WW? I bought the books off of Ebay, but don't have the paper slide calculator, wonder if they sell them on Ebay too. That could really come in handy!!

Janet, my Mom photocopied one of her friend's slide calculators and then just cut it out so that it worked properly. It worked really well for her. Maybe you could a picture online or someone here could scan their's for you? She carried it in her purse so that she would have it at the grocery store or when she went out to eat. Good luck!

Did you check 3 Fat Chicks for that?

I forgot all about that!! I have one. I'll copy it and mail you the copy unless I figure out how to use my scanner first. Pm me your address.

I used to use it all the time. Completely forgot.
