Warning!!!

Okay ladies...you probably all know this, but I had NO idea! If you google your screen name...it brings up all the forums you're on...what you've said the whole works.

Did any of you really know this? I typed in my screen name on YT and all kinds of things came up. Thank the good Lord that there are a lot of Janet's, I've gone through a ton of pages and still don't find Janet on 4WT.:p

I guess the only way a person could get into trouble is if the people they are writing about know your screen name. What a trip!!! :thumbdwn:

Yup - we are vulnerable unless the site has some protections.

I've actually done this before Janet and it's pretty scary all of the stuff that comes up, but luckily, I've never said anything that would be a security issue for just that reason. Unfortunately for me, my sn is very unique... :(

Well I just had no idea! Now don't get me wrong...I have never written anything that I wouldn't say to someone face (well except maybe my Mom...I wouldn't want to hurt her) I'm pretty much an open book, but for those who had no idea it could be found so easily ....it just really shocked me.

I read if somewhere before, and thought i would try it. Opened up google, and typed in my SN i use on YT - it showed my email adresses i had once posted on there for some reason in a thread. I asked Admin to remove my email adresses from that thread, and he did it without hesitation. It is scary - just remember never ever post your phone # and home adres on an open forum.

Privacy is pretty much non-existent on the web. Crazy deal.

Too bad a few untrustworthy people force you to have to be cautious with everyone...

But that is just not only on the internet. The world is so scary now.

That's true. What a sad world...

I did it and came up with all e-Bay transactions. How funny! I have to try my YT name.

Privacy doesn't exist, but when I think about it, I have absolutely nothing to hide (anymore!), so who cares?

After my personal stalking incident - he lived near enough that I contacted the FBI - I am more cautious but since I am an author, editor, publisher it is hard to figure out how to protect myself.

I had several things come up with my e-bay user name. Mostly feedback that I had left for others. When I checked my user name on here a lot of Princess Diana stuff came up. I didn't find anything with my user name. Whew!!!!
