Screwed Up Already!

Leave it to me ladies!!! I had one last pie to bake yesterday and I was getting a little tired. I was making a peanut butter pie. I love this pie and hadn't made one in a couple of years so thought, what the heck..sounds really good for Thanksgiving.

After I mixed it all together it just didn't seem the right color and I remembered having to stirr it for quite some time on the stove for it to thicken. Well it thickened up so fast and I just couldn't figure out what I had done.

I called my Mom to tell her about it and told her I had used some fat free pnt btr along with the regular. She thought sometimes you can't use fat free items and that may be why the color was darker and why it thickened up so fast. I was reading the recipe to her and then I burst into a big ole laugh. My Mom was trying so hard to get me to calm down and tell her what I had done.

I had used 5 CUPS of pnt btr instead of 5 TABLESPOONS!!! What a goofball I am..LOLOL I tried a small piece of the pie and well, it's in wasted food heaven now...lol I had to throw it out it was sooooo bad. Maybe I'll try it again next year....ROFLMBO!!!

ROFLMFAO!!!! Sorry Janet, this DID give me a good laugh, it's just the kind of thing i would do. Ive done something similar when baking a cake, put a cup of baking powder in, instead of a tspoon, a friend of mine was at my house, we were having a baking day, we were talking so much, we totally forgot what we were doing LOL

What a wonderful mistake! Too bad it couldn't be rescued. But what a way to start out the holiday with a smile!

Ya got me girlfriend!! I have no idea where my brain was at except I was getting tired. In these cookies I make (corn flake cookies) it takes 5 cups of peanut butter so I guess I got confused......ya think??? LOLOL:D

That's funny Janet. I've done silly things like that often. Glad you can laugh about it. WOW - that's a lot of peanut butter, LOL. :D All these visuals in my head of you standing over the stove trying to stir that stuff is cracking me up. :yelrotflmao:

My daughter, Amy, made homemade fudge the day before Thanksgiving. She gave me a call right before she started to go over the cooking time and how to make it. The last time she tried to make fudge was when she was first married and even after soaking the pan for several days she still ended up having to throw the pan out!!!!

So making a mistake in the ingredients is NO big deal ,Janet, but when you have to thow out dishes in the process, well, that's another thing!!!!!!

BTW--Her fudge turned out perfectly!!! She must have had a good teacher!!!!!
