My Daughter Is Graduating College
Need to brag a little/lot. I've posted before about my oldest daughter, Laura. She graduated a year early from high school (1989), went 3 semesters to college, got pregnant, quit school, got married (1991), had twin boys at 26 weeks, had a daughter (1997), and had a daughter (1998). Somewhere in there, she started taking a few college courses around her husband and kids' schedules. One of the twins (Brandon) is bedridden and has a part-time nurse, so that is a major schedule consideration.
Yesterday, after 3 college semesters and a summer session, Laura passed Organic Chemistry after having failed the class three times. She'll be 37 next month and the amazing part is that she can work twenty years and still retire at a young age. I'm the proudest moma in the world right now. It's funny that the other three have all graduated college and had academic success, but I must admit that this one makes me proudest. It's partly because she's had the most struggle (although self inflicted), but mostly because she's such a good person, a wonderful mother, and my best friend. Oh, now that she's almost grown up, she'll be a High School Science Teacher. |
Sandy, that is wonderful news. I can sure tell by your post the pride in every word. Congratulations to you for raising a daughter that doesn't give up and Congratulations to your daughter. What a great accomplishment!!

:congrats::bravo::coolsmiley::cheer::cheer::cheer: wow, congrats to her! and to you. That gives me hope that I can still do it with a job and four kids.

Sandy, I'm so happy for both of you!
Not all take the straight and shorter road... some take a longer one and have to do things the hard way... but when they accomplish their goal just think of all the extra lessons they've learned! You have every right to be proud. |
My SIL sent me an e-mail this morning to tell me that Laura doesn't want to walk, she feels too old with all the young kids graduating. She had walked when she got her Associates Degree. I called and told her that she will not take away my privilege to sit there and cry - so she's on her way to get the cap and gown. She'll walk on May 18th.
I am so proud of her! |
Congratulations!!!!! :congrats::bravo::2party: |

:congrats: TO YOUR DAUGHTER :bravo:
You have every reason to be proud, you did a great job Sandy.:thumbup: |
Your daughter is someone to be admired and congratulated!! It's very hard to go back to school with a husband, kids, and housework still needing to be taken care of. She should lift her head during the graduation and be very proud of all that she's accomplished....and you have every right to cry and be proud of all that she's achieved!!! Tell her Congratulations from me!!!!

What a wonderful day that will be! Congratulations to all of you. She took the road less traveled, which is always interesting.
I was a high school science teacher. I LOVED my job, my kids, my subject, and the early retirement can't be beat. She will be very happy. |
Way to go!! Congrats on your daughters graduation!
