So Sad

We're here in Chicago having so much fun, but Dae Lynn and I also had bad news this morning. My husband called and said that his dad, Frank, passed away this morning. He got up and sat in a chair and just went to sleep. When I was talking to my husband I was crying and I know that I worried Angie (sorry Angie). It took me some time to get my act back together. I really loved my father-in-law. He was a wonderful man and my husband takes after him in so many ways. I had a few times today that I was saddened but had decided since we were already here we were going to have a great time and we did. We were planning on going home Monday and my husband is encouraging us to stay and finish our little trip, so we are but it's really hard to think about my husband being home almost alone (Jaci is still there). He was so supportitive for me when my Dad died. Anyway, please remember our family in prayer. This is going to be a very difficult week when we get back home. The funeral will be on Tuesday. Thanks so much guys!! Love ya'll!!!

Diana, my dear friend, I am so sorry you had to recieve this news and so far away from home. I know he was failing, but it still doesn't lesson the heartache. Please know you and your family are in my prayers. Please be careful going home and let us know you arrive safely. Love you girl!

I'm so sorry for your loss Diana.
When I read this my first thought was "How lucky for your FIL to have passed this simply and easily."
I know it's hard for the people left behind, but my own father passed in a very similar fashion... no pain, fear, or drama... what a blessing for them.

Your family will be in my prayers.
HUGS

Diana, so sorry for your loss.
You, and your family are in my thoughts, and prayers.
Try to enjoy the rest of your weekend, and have a safe trip going home.
I know you are in good hands there, and the girls will do their best to take your mind of things a little.

Diana,

I know you loved him, and I'm so sorry he passed. Like Tink said though, he went in peace, with no pain or suffering.

I'm glad you decided to stay and enjoy the meetup. You'll be home soon for your dear husband.

Love,

Judy

Thanks everyone. I have enjoyed my weekend but once in a while my mind drifts back to what's going on at home with my husband and everyone. I'm ready to get back home now and be with my husband through all of this. I'm going to really miss Frank.

Janet 06-01-2008 05:35 PM

I understand Diana. Your husband will probably be glad to have you back home with him.

I miss my in-laws a lot. This spring with not being able to go to the flower shop has been especially hard.

Know I have you in my thoughts and prayers. You guys drive safe going home and let us know when you get there. You know I'll be worried!

So sorry for you loss. You will be able to give your husband all the support he needs when you return from your trip. Hugs to you.

Diana, I am so sorry that this happened. I could tell how much you really cared for your father-in-law. The way you spoke of him just said tons about his loving personality. I know you'll always remember him because you'll still see him in your husband and children. I bet it's a huge comfort knowing that his influence will never be gone. Thank goodness your husband had such a wonderful example of what a father should be...I can tell that you and he have been incredible parents and I'm guessing a lot of that has to do with having an amazing role model.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. *hugs*
