Light and Quick - Weight Watchers
I went back on Weight Watchers and have been looking for some quick easy and low point recipes. I came up with one that works out pretty well. It fills you up, is quick and is tasty. Anyway, here it is in case anyone is doing weight watchers and is looking for some ideas.
Ingredients 3 oz. cooked shrimp - Points = 2 1/2 cup of Broccoli Florets - Points = Free 1/2 Cup of Carrots - Points = Free 1/2 cup of Cauliflower - Points = Free 1/2 cup of Portabella Mushrooms / Sliced - Points = Free 2 cloves of Garlic sliced up - Points = Free 2 tsp. Worstorshire Sauce - Points = 1 Garlic Powder and Onion Powder to taste ____________________________ In skillet dump everything in and cook on low until fully cooked and browned. You may have to add a little water. _______________________________ I will eat this a lot for dinner and add a salad to it or some fruit. You can also mix it up a bit and make a surf and turf by adding some filet mignon or even chicken. This is pretty filling and it's extremely easy. |
Elaine, is it 3 points per serving or for the whole thing? What size is a serving?

Hi Janet. Nope it's 3 points for the whole thing. The only ingredient with a point value is the Shrimp which is 2 points per 3 oz. serving and the Worsteshire Sauce. The veggies are all free and you can eat as much as you want. You can even add more veggies to fill yourself up. I eat the whole thing. LOL. Also, if you were to add steak or chicken in place of the shrimp or with the shrimp then you would have to add the point value of what you put in. The serving size is the whole thing. Again that is because the only point value is the shrimp and Worstorshire Sauce everything else is free. Just know that if you add different veggies check for points as some are starchy and are not free. Elaine |
Thanks Elaine. If you like soups..the Progressive Soups are wonderful and cetain ones are only 1 point for the whole can. Very filling.

Oh I know what all I can eat with WW's. It's just that some of the stuff I really like and one helping isn't enough. It's best it's not in the house at all.

My husband is my problem, i took him grocery shopping with me the last time i went, cause he was bitching that i don't buy him anything good for his lunches, and 350.00 dollars later, and a bunch of junk in my house, i could just scream!. Now Micah is eatting chesse curls almost everyday, i hid the bag this morning cause when he see's it, he'll throw a fit until i give him some.. I really dont' like all the junk food in my house, all his chips, pringles and crap, i put downstairs so i don't even see them.

Elaine,
That recipe sounds delicious! I take zucchini, yellow squash, baby carrots, asparagus, and green beans, slice or cut them up, put the whole thing into a tupperware type of container with a little water, and microwave them for about 5 minutes. Like you said, 0 points. I have some kind of protein with the veggies. I usually count it as 6 points. I've been very bad about WW points this week, but I'm stressed out. |
Judy, if i remember right, all veggies are 0 points except the starchy ones? I don't have my book with me right now or i would look it up.
