We're So Outa Here!!!!

There is talk again of Texas seceeding from the nation. Folks around here are getting pretty tired of the federal government and the mess they have made. When Texas joined the union, we were an independent nation with an elected president. We joined with the provision that if we ever decided to do so, we would leave. We can legally fly our flag at the same level as the stars and stripes for this reason. We have much of the oil (except for what's in Alaska and Oklahoma, of course), we don't like big government, never have, our power grid is totally separate from the rest of the nation. We never connected for a good reason. We have wind power all over west Texas. We have lots of uranium. Folks are tired of the drain placed on us by the big cities up North. We know how to run our state and educate our children, thank you very much. Plans are to withdraw our troops from Iraq and mobalize our state nation guard which is still in place to protect our borders. This idea is gaining in popularity. Ron Paul could be our president or whoever we decide to duly elect.

We may just leave you all with the mess!!! ;)

Love you!!!!

It will never work.....George Bush still lives in Texas:D

Will I need a passport to come visit you? That's really interesting. I did not know
that about Texas.

I can't say I blame you, but please stay!

Not sure about the passport requirements. You might have to check with your Homeland Security Department.

Gas has reached $4.09 at some of the stations on major highways in Texas. This is enough to cause a major rebellion. Folks down here have had just about enough. Everything is very spread out. It's nothing for people to drive 30 or 40 miles one way to work, or wasn't.

Native Texans are very independant folks and don't like government telling us what we can and cannot do. Sorry if some folks resent us for the way we feel, but we are proud of our state as you should be of yours. Our founding fathers never intended for the federal government to do anything more than provide for our security and preserve our freedoms. The states have lost their rights. We've sold out to the federal government by accepting their funding for programs like education. We need to be the ones who decide what is and is not acceptable in our states.

I'm worried just how far the feds will eventually go in taking away our liberties.

Sorry, I know this is a forum, and not a blog. I guess this should have been posted in the vent section. I'm just tired, I guess.

Welcome to my world! Gas cost us 3.99 - 4.05  a gallon in Virginia and is even higher in DC. My husband also drives 70 miles to work each morning. (He works in DC) Texas isn't the only place feeling the pinch. However, as much as I hate the mess we are in I wouldn't want to leave.:)

Our Mr Boone Pickens is investing 10 billion dollars in more wind farms in OK and TX.

Can Oklahoma tag along with you?

Michelle, we just may be able to arrange something. Oklahoma and Texas do have a lot in common. Y'all do have oil and wind, and you were a territory not too long ago. When the secession group forms, I'll be sure and let them know that Oklahoma is interested, too.

There are so many wind tower components moving from our coastal ports to West Texas and maybe Oklahoma that we are constantly seeing them caravaning down our highways and through our cities. The blades for the turbines are HUGE!!!

Wow i can't believe your gas is that much in Texas, you would think it would be cheaper?
I don't blame you for being pissed off, i would too...

I think that we could all learn something from Mr.Pickens! I think more states should invest in wind farms. We need to start trying to depend on something else beside oil. We are seriously starting to think about maybe investing in solar power. I do agree that the gov. has gotten way to big. My husband said that we need to get a concealed weapons permit before they take that away from us too.

Our lowest gas price in Clinton County Indiana is $4.05, our highest $4.17. We have a wind farm getting ready to come into our county. One of the windmills is just two miles west of us.

Are they hiring for this wind farm? My husband is an electrical engineer with experience in power (coal). Do you know what the name of the company is?

We have wind farms here in Kansas and the propellers are huge. You often see them going down the highway.

As for Texas seceeding I don't blame you. Maybe Kansas can tag along with Oklahoma! Everyone is tired of government intervention. If you check our government is suppose to be run by the people but things have gotten turned around somewhere. When the government doles out money we have to jump through the hoops to receive it. Unfortunately a lot of people jump instead of running.

I'm really worried about our nation and I'm afraid that God's going to punish us. Gay marriages may be like the straw that breaks the camel's back. I'm looking for BIG disasters in the near future.

I'm sorry I don't have any idea. There hasn't been anything in the paper recently either, but as soon as I hear something I'll let you know. Your husband could probably contact the Clinton Co. Chamber of Commerce. I'm sure they'd have lots of information or at least send him in the right direction.:)

goofywife 07-10-2008 12:44 PM

They actually make the wind mills here and ship them to Texas. Our gas is holding at $3.79. Of course I have not gone to any of the gas stations on indian land. I might have to check that out.

I wish I lived in Texas!!!

I am so tired of our Government. I am so tired of our Government looking out for other countries... hey!!! What about US?? We are in trouble here... I am tired of our Government taking care of those that come into our Country illegally, while citizens of our country are hurting bad and can get no help, I am tired of our Government allowing American Companies to out-source OUR jobs, I am tired of our Government allowing those same companies to bring their product back into our country without a stiff penalty.

I am tired of hearing about the economy, when OUR Governemt is contributiing and a direct cause to the sad economy going on in our country right now.

I am terrified to see what our outcome will be... what will it take for our Government to see what our Future will be??? The way it is going... there is no future. For our children.. for their children.. where are we heading??

Bottom line is we have to let our voices and concerns heard.

Somebody has to hear us and truly listen and care.

Before it is too late.

I am tired... and scared.
