Fun Day!
 

Today was my daughter's 31st birthday :eek: (how OLD does that make ME!).

She wanted to do an Austin Duck tour. You know, it's one of those touristy tours that you do when you visit another town, but NEVER do in the town where you live. So, we all got on the duck bus! It is an amphibious vehicle. First we toured downtown Austin and yes, we learned lots of things we never knew about the city we have lived in for 23 years. Next we drove off into the lake that runs through the center of town, because after all, we were riding in an amphibious vehicle. We forgot to take our camera :( but I got some pix off the website. There was no pic of the "duck" on the street, only in the water and driving out of the water. We had a GREAT time!

After the duck tour, we went to Cabela's to buy a game camera. That's a motion activated camera that takes pictures of whatever it is aimed at, in this case, the area around my husband's deer stand - to see if any deer are walking by it.

After that, we went to a good Mexican restaurant for dinner. It was a great day, my daughter had a good birthday!!!

Oh, Gayle, what fun!!! I've seen those Duck Busses and wondered what it was like. So glad y'all had such a wonderful time!!

I've never seen one of those before...I would love to drive one...LOL. Your granddaughter...she sure is cute, but doesn't look like she wanted her picture taken. Aren't they fun at this age??? :)

Glad y'all had fun. I've never heard of the Duck Bus either. But, it sounds like a good road trip for me and the g-kids, next Spring.

It sounds like your daughter had a very memoriable birthday. I've seen the ducks at Branson but have never ridden one. Also, what a cute granddaugher you have!!!!

Janet, you are SO PERCEPTIVE!!! She DID NOT want me to take her picture, but I MADE her let me - so you picked right up on the fact that she didn't want me to take it. She is a real cutie, so I don't know why she doesn't like to get her pic taken, but she doesn't. Now, this granddaughter on the other hand, is a ham!!!
