My almost 6 year old g-daughter, Abigail, ran in her first marathon last Saturday. Her Mom was running in the big girls race, so Abby ran in the little girls race. She told me that she loved it and wants to run more.

Sandy, you g-daughter is beautiful! That's a great picture too, looks like if they cropped the others out of the picture, she could be on the Wheaties box.

Please tell her she's gorgeous!

And you will understand that statement even more when you have grandbabies of your own. It's just unexplainable how the pride passes through the child you created to the grandchild that was created.

If only we could have had the grandbabies FIRST!

The Abigails are really pretty and their names too. Gayle that is a beautiful picture of the two of you. I bet it's one you really treasure.

Thanks Diana, I keep trying to remember to donate - but I don't use paypal so I have to write out that check and put it in the mail and obviously I'm not very good at remembering to do that!

I AM YOUNG!!! I'm only 56 (well for 4 more days!) :D I think my gray hair throws people off (I'm not talking about you though). I get lots of comments from strangers or people I don't know well about how young looking I am. I think because of the almost white hair, people think I am older that I am. I've had significantly gray hair since I was 30!!!

I'm still the oldest one on here!

Gayle, it just clicked that Abigail is probably names after you?

My Abby is the one born the day after my birthday. We almost shared the same birthday.

gja1000 11-07-2008 07:03 PM

Yes, she is sorta named after me - my daughter didn't want to name her "just Gayle" so she went with Abigail - which I like better than Gayle anyway!!! :) And her other daughter Emma (my almost two year old granddaughter) is named after my grandmother Emma.

Tiramisu 11-08-2008 06:57 AM

I love the "name after" tradition. A few of my kids are names after family members.

judy 11-09-2008 05:32 AM

What beautiful children! I love the name Abigail too.
