I agree with Ms. Cunningham. These were the top news stories globally. It's amazing how many people are watching us and what our country does. Kinda freeky, actually.
At least it wasn't a deranged gunman again. Thanks for posting. This is interesting!! |
Thanks Angie. That's quite a list.
This one I find very interesting: "2 ECONOMIC MELTDOWN The bad news kept coming - collapses of Wall Street giants; huge stock market losses; plummeting home prices and a surge of Advertisement foreclosures; desperate times for U.S. automakers. It added up to the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, and will cost the federal government well over $1 trillion in various rescue and stimulus packages." During the depression beginning in 1929, the federal government had no money for bailouts, did they? I find this a strange thing. The government has billions and we're in a depression, with no work, foreclosures, etc. What's going on? |
Judy, what I've been wondering is if our government is so far in debt, where is the bailout money coming from? More debt?? What happens if our creditors call our notes? They say we have a huge debt to China, a communist country!? It looks like currently, China is bailing us out. China is having their own problems as a result of reduced consumer spending in the "possession hungry" U.S. Can a country file for bankruptcy protection? What happens to our country and what will be the global effects if something like that happens? Are we back to the stone ages?? This may sound crazy, but I'm really concerned, and no one seems to be talking about this. This huge debt and how we are going to get rid of it. They just say that we are leaving it for our children. How horrible is that???!!!!!
Are any of you concerned about what our grandchildren are going to face in the future. I don't know what God has planned for us and how long he is going to let the world continue. I know he's watching over it all, and taking care of the faithful, but it still causes concern!! |
Yes, Marilyn, I'm concerned about what's in my grandchildren's future. Just look at the difference from when we were kids and what things are like for the kids today. It really concerns me about what changes are going to take place in another 10, 20, or 30 years.
About the govenment's loans, I read that some of the loans are due next year. I tried to find the article but I couldn't find it. I did find this and thought that it was interesting...... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_public_debt |
