I need your opinions....

I have been looking for drapery panels for my bedroom. I have to tell you, I am a bit tired of looking at pix of fabric!
I found gold panels that allow lots of light in and also provide privacy at Target. I need maybe one or two panels on each side of the three windows to pull it together. I'm treating the 3 windows as one window treatment. Here are some pix of the room. It would look a lot nicer if the pictures and mirrors were hung - but we know that story! (SIL). Please ignore the mess. 1. There is a purpler velvet bedskirt. The comforter is actually lighter than the walls. I'm waiting for a yellow and a fuchsia throw pillows for the bed. 2. The little aqua vase on the dresser and the flowers are the complementary colors I'm using. 3. 3 walls are the dark orange and the other walls are this beige/coral. 4. This is the gold drape. Ignore the green - I was hoping it would look nice, but it doesn't. |

I like the second one. It has the coral color on the wall and also the colors of the flowers by your bed that you were wanting to incorporate as well.

I 2nd that...I like number 2 also.

I am going to send for a sample of #2. Thanks!!! (Haley - I like #1 too. It's fun!) |
I like the second fabric from the second post. The room is coming together beautifully, lovely taste as usual Judy
I like number 1 from the first post, but it doesn't seem to tie in with your decor style. |
I like the second one in Post #3. Make that room POP!

I thought you meant I should call my interior decorator!!! You can be my interior decorator anytime.;) So, I think I will also send for a sample of #2 in the last post. I love that one too. I think it's very sexy. I'm just not sure about the white background. You should see those with a black background! Hot! #1 really has my heart. I know it's not for a bedroom. It just makes me very happy. I may send for a remnant and frame it. |

NO NO!! I can TOTALLY see #1 fabric (the one with the houses) in a bedroom. It reminds me of a Caribbean bungalo. I LOVE it!!! But of course, it isn't as practical as the other fabrics and is pretty busy, but I LOVE it! |
Any of the florals with the coral/orange accents will work. I like the second one in the last post also. The stripes are too modern for your decor.
You are definitely not afraid of color. I'm not into neutrals, don't get me wrong, I love color. For me it's more earthy tones. My current palette is yellow/gold, greens, tans/dk browns & purple. I know the purple sounds weird, but the colors are mediterranean, the colors of earth and vineyards. Our game room does have burnt orange/terra cotta on the top part of the wall with a cream wainscote below. The clay color goes with my pallet also. I've lived in several different style homes with very diverse pallets, and this one is the most tranquil and homey to me. We all have to find the palette that works for us. Yours is bright and cheery for a very vibrant personnality. Our bedroom is a very tranquill shade of green. I have a dear friend who thinks that color is horrible. It's fun to listen to people's comments on color when working a Parade of Homes. The opinions are so diverse. People need to realize that we all have our own preferrences. If we all liked the same thing, this world would be a very very boring place!!! Wish you well with your pick or curtains. I think you are on the right track, and your room will be lovely!!! |
