1. 2. When Gary goes home, he has to have a heart attack burger (sorry Betsi). Since it's only once a year, I don't fuss. It's double meat with cheese and chili!!! 3. Poor Rowdy is trying to figure out how to get out of this mess 4. A frosted mug, rimmed with lime pulp and salt and Dos XXX beer. MMMMMMMMM!!!!! |

Some pix of my hometown
1. this is the house I grew up in. My mom lived in it till 2001 when she had to move to Austin with me. My brother bought it and then sold it - it's pretty run down now. Sad. 2. The grocery store in my little town, the house in pic #1 is directly behind it 3. the hotel (hasn't been a hotel in a LONG time - but it was when I was growing up) and it is just catty cornered from my house 4. Downtown Taloga - one block long! HA! |

A few more pix of home1
1. the flag is in front of the post office where my mom worked for 30 years 2. Dinner Today! at the Senior Citizen Center 3. County courthouse - it's being remodeled so it looks pretty terrible!!! 4. Sherrif's department. Well, that's about it for my hometown. I should have gone up and taken a pic of the school, don't know why I didn't think of that! There are about 300 people in my hometown. |
Great pic's Gayle, thats a tiny town but i bet it felt huge when you were growing up LOL
even though i only live a short distance from where i grew up, i love going back there, especially to my house, thank goodness my brother owns it now so i can still go back there, even though he lives in Cali. mom still makes comments about moveing back home someday LOL. I took Janet there last month, she seen all the stuff we have stored there. I loved living in a small town. Wow all of that snow, looks like your g-daughter sure was enjoying it, so glad you are home safe & warm now. |
SNOW!!!
Emma is too, too cute! She should model ski wear!!! I'm glad you had fun on your trip back home. Is that Gary's beer? That's Mike's favorite with mexican food, lol!! Top of the list is Shiner:p He doesn't drink much, but he does like beer with certain foods:rolleyes: |
Gayle I always love all your pics and descriptions. I almost feel like I'm there and I love that!! Your hometown is a small one and looks so western. I do have to say that burger looked wonderful!! Oh and Betsi....as long as there is food....I can drink a beer....lol

That's some snow Gayle! Emma is loving it, little cutie that she is. And, that's some burger Gary is eating. Yummy...once a year, and look at his face as he is going to eat it! You just can't deny him that burger!
I love your small town, and the house you grew up in. I can't imagine being a kid in a small town. I sure love being an adult in one though. |
I always enjoy it when you post pictures, Gayle!! The snow looks about like what we have here only we've had a few more inches added a couple of more times. I finally took some pictures to post. I bet that you were ready to get out of the cold!! We're suppose to have an "artic blast" hit us on Tuesday or Wednesday!!! I bet that your hometown will be hit by it too.....BRRR.......
Emma is such a doll!!! It looks like she really enjoyed the snow!!! Your hometown is pretty small with only 300 people!! I thought that our town was small with 2,600!!! We do have two or three little towns like yours nearby but they don't have and stores with them anymore. Gary does look pretty happy to be eating his burger!!! I hope he ate it slow and enjoyed every bite!!!! |
Great pictures Gayle! Emma is adorable!
Your hometown reminds me of my hometown :) Mine has a population of 500 though, and downtown is TWO blocks long :p :D And of course, mine has a little more snow :) Isn't small town living great? I wouldn't have wanted to grow up anywhere else! |
