I have to buy a new one, since the parts to fix this one come to a little under $200. I have an old Hotpoint, probably bottom of the line. It was fine for me. Actually, this is the first time I ever had a dishwasher!
There were a couple of things that got stuck under the lower arm. When I got them out, the arm hub had cracked. It might have cracked first. Nothing ever got caught in there before.
I am upset to think that I may have cost myself a few hundred dollars if I broke it!

But, dwelling on it for too long won't get my dishes washed. Any suggestions?
I think the cheapest, reliable dishwasher will do fine. I really don't need any bells and whistles. I barely cook.
I have a notion to just go online to Lowes or Home Depot and order one. They deliver and take the old one away. Jessie thinks I should go look for floor samples, etc. I don't really have the motivation or the energy to bother. I doubt if I will save much, because I'm buying an inexpensive one to begin with. I want to spend about $300. It will cost about $150 to have it installed.
