Thanks ladies!
I don't mean to sound snotty... by "outdoing" so hope it didn't come across that way.
I am just relieved that things are going better and I'm finally able to prove myself.
Today we had the district manger in our branch for the afternoon. He told me he's going to build up our branch enough that I won't always be working as a teller on the teller line, but can open accounts, do sales, loans, and such instead. THAT is exactly what I wanted to hear! I'll still be teller supervisor, but will be doing the work of an assistant manager/personal banker as well since we simply aren't big enough to warrant having all 3.
What worries me a bit is that Andrew sees that all as his domain and I don't want to make him feel displaced. I still have to work with him 5 days a week! They're planning to remodel our branch to add an ATM, a bigger night drop box, and put a desk for me between the teller line and Andrews office.
It's been "his" branch for many years with just him and a teller or 2 working it... so I'm afraid he sees the changes as a bit threatening. I couldn't take over his job if I wanted to! (Which I don't) He's got a double degree in business and finance, and I have NO formal education in banking. I just have sales experience and lots of connections locally. I feel I have to be careful in my balance so I prove myself without appearing to have my eyes on replacing his work.
